You may not understand. My characters are maxed out all horse skills, all pvp skills, all undaunted, all fighters guild, all mages guild, all skyshards, etc.
YOU CANNOT RANK UP ALL THESE THINGS IN 4 HOURS. YOUR "PVP TOON" WOULD BE GARBAGE COMPARED TO A COMPLETE CHARACTER.

No to the suggestion, would have someone with lots of ap from ganking on red side, quickly swap to yellow and become emperor when they take the last keep.
I support the idea to change the alliance faction you started on. I chose DC on an alt because long time ago the only way to get loot and the monster collectibles from your starting faction (lets say EP) was to create a toon from another faction (DC) so EP can become the last zone (and get loot from every monster you killed while there). This way you were guaranteed to get the monster collectibles you wanted. Also, when Dwemer motif appeared for the first time, you had better chances being a DC toon farming that Rift dwemer dungeon (I forgot the name).
With OT release, those issues were no more. However, my DC toon could not join the EP PVP guild I was on due to the faction alliance. Take in mind too the amount of gold and time spent on horse and space upgrades, crafting skills maxed, trait researched and the amount of achievements completed. Should I delete it just to start again with the "correct" alliance? Hell no.
So, now you have pretty valid points for people asking for this feature to become a reality. Please @ZOS make it so.
EDIT: The alliance faction should be either: A) a one time option per character. You use the token and you stay with that new faction forever or B ) they can put a cooldown of 30 days on the character that have just changed it alliance faction (a win-win situation since @ZOS can still get money from us while providing us with unlimited alliance changes provided the 30 days cooldown is complete for that character)

Yes I read this and answered. PvP has already problem with re-loggers. Giving a possibility to change character's alliance would only cause more dmg. Could you tell me your concerns on how this would be abused? PVP is already corrupt, how much worse can it get than purchasing emporship? Guilds that farm their own members for AP as a cheat and a way to drag in victims.. It goes on and on.
Do you know how many Guilds set up "AP farming days"? They announce it and everyone jumps on opposite teams, while all staying in party or guild chat. They then find a resource or castle and have their friends on the other team start siege on the castle or resource. This draws in unknowing players thinking they are in an honest fight. After enough victims arrive the guild has all their destro ults etc ready and they pour out and wipe their guildmates and the legit players too. Rinse and Repeat. Defensive ticks from the pinged resource or castle.
Then the same guild takes turns or charges gold to swap Emporership.
I won't tell you any names, but don't fool yourself into thinking pvp is slightly legit. It is corrupt as the day is long.
