Alliance Change Option?

I have 12 characters and over 1000 cp. Yes, no life.

I would like to have all my characters in the same Alliance since my early characters were not selected with PVP in mind.

What do you think? Should we be allowed an alliance change?

One time per account. Must have any race any alliance unlocked. Have a list of your characters, change each to the faction you want. Click confirm, and confirm again. That's it. Once.

If there was an alliance change option it would need to have quite the cooldown so people dont just jump around between alliances in order to be on the winning side of the alliance wars in cyrodiil

Could you tell me your concerns on how this would be abused? PVP is already corrupt, how much worse can it get than purchasing emporship? Guilds that farm their own members for AP as a cheat and a way to drag in victims.. It goes on and on.

Do you know how many Guilds set up "AP farming days"? They announce it and everyone jumps on opposite teams, while all staying in party or guild chat. They then find a resource or castle and have their friends on the other team start siege on the castle or resource. This draws in unknowing players thinking they are in an honest fight. After enough victims arrive the guild has all their destro ults etc ready and they pour out and wipe their guildmates and the legit players too. Rinse and Repeat. Defensive ticks from the pinged resource or castle.

Then the same guild takes turns or charges gold to swap Emporership.

I won't tell you any names, but don't fool yourself into thinking pvp is slightly legit. It is corrupt as the day is long.

The thing is, this would completly remove need for "any race, any alliance" unlock. Which would be bad for ZoS and people that bought it.

But overall, one time per character it could be useful. Most people lack "Any race, any alliance" so this could mix the races and playstyles a little. Like every newbie playing stam in PVP on AD is ganker or was in the past ganker, because that passive on bosmer and khajiit just tells you to do it.

Neither of those claims are necessarily true. You can restrict changing alliances based on having "any race, any alliance". Also, the cost to move a player can be made more expensive than "any race, any alliance", making it a horrible way to get a Kajiit in DC.

I see your point and alas I agree with your grim vision of today pvp, but then I wonder if your proposal wouldn't only exacerbate this situation. I mean, how many players who maybe don't have characters in all the three alliances would swap one of their toon just for playing this sort of tricks better?

Yes, but a once only for every character. And perhaps a maximum of 12 tokens to accommodate the 12 character slots.

No to the suggestion, would have someone with lots of ap from ganking on red side, quickly swap to yellow and become emperor when they take the last keep.

If done right.

There should be a time limit of how often you can do that (eg. once a year per character) and it should cost a lot of crowns to reduce the number of unloyal traitors switching for the winning team.

But I think it would be nice to have some reversibility in case you *** up in the beginning and realized it only after years. Class-change token would be nice too.

I was there as well. My main has tons of rare motifs, hard to get achievements, all skyshards collected, over 90 % of quests done, all skills, both morphs maxed. The problem is that I love playing support but I am sorcerer. Not a templar.
But now that I have learned to do good DPS I don't really care it that much and am pretty happy as DPS, although it's not really in my nature.

I think majority of people asking this kind of services are asking it for role play or social reasons. Not to switch into the "flavour of the month" build. As it has been pointed out many times, leveling up new PvP toon takes 2 days.

This is easily prevented by taking away all your AP upon switching side. I don't think fresh recruits and traitors are getting much merit in the army.

That really does depend on how much the switch costs to behonest because once that trigger is pulled theres no going back. For the player or the PvP implications either.

I like someones idea previously to tie this to a questline. Maybe have that be a quest thats only available once at the beginning of every month.


Also make it cost a ridiculous sum of AP like 2mil.

I think Zenimax would make a ton of money if they sold Alliance Change Tokens just like they do for Race/sex and Appearance change.

Charge 5000 crowns or more and make it an Account Based change for all your toons. Make it so expensive that the cheaters will see it is not viable to swap sides.

I chose an Argonion Templar Healer as my first toon. Now years later everyone is an Argonion Healer thanks to the race change token. Is that fair? You can choose the race, sex and looks anytime you see an advantage in racial passives. This is an analogy to me choosing the wrong Alliance on my first characters, but choosing the best race if race tokens never came out. Let's not debate Argonion Healers being the best, but rather the fact that changing racial passives 3 years after creating a character is no different then Alliance Changing if Zenimax chooses to grant us that option some day.

I would like to be able to enjoy all my toons on the same Alliance. You might want to change your toon's race or sex for your reasons and I support that. Why are certain people so worried about what team I choose?

This seems to be pretty exploit-proof though I think you should also need to have at least CP1 if not even CP160.

5k crowns is not all that expensive.

Clearly Zos doesn't do everything that could make bank. They're not adding cosss change for morrowind and I'd bet that would be added well before alliance change is considered.

Zos has to weigh the risks and issue that could come up and look at this in a way we might not notice.

In other words, just because a player thinks it would be good for them doesn't mean it is worth the possible issues for Zos the implement.

I'd be in favor of this, sure - why not? Maybe add some penalty like you have to start your alliance rank over or something though.

At any rate, after Morrowind launches, I think a lot of people are just going to be playing battlegrounds exclusively and the faction doesn't matter at all.
