Why vamp when you can lich?

It's not like liches are rare in ESO anyway, why can't we become lich rather than vamp?

I thought just about all undead had a weakness to fire? Could be wrong about a lich though.

I dunno though because for the most part you can still look human as a vampire, just with cooler eyes. Liches are undead and so their skin rots unless they're extremely powerful maybe in certain types of necromantic restoration?

    Both have their perks but....

    Vampire Lich ftw!:P

I think a few patches back (over a year ago) they took out all the special vulnerabilities some monster types had like undead to fire and daedra to electricity. Player vampires still have a reduced vulnerability to fire and player werewolves a reduced vulnerability to poison. I would dig player liches and would totally get my lich on.

*Sigh* You need the flesh of a well ridden horse, tongue of a dragon, and the heart of a lich. Mix them together and the resulting concoction is sure to make you undead.

Right, I wasn't really referring to ESO mechanics and vulnerabilities mainly because it's not possible to be a lich in ESO as a player lol... Sure you can equip their armor and role play as one, but it's not an actual skill set in game.

    Edit

Yes I know that was the point of the post, but typically liches have a weakness to fire, that's why I brought it up. It would need something to be a drawback since being an undead necromancer lich is kind of "taboo."

I never got around to it, but yeah, adding the ability to become a lich would be pretty cool in the single player games. I'm less convinced it would be a good idea for ESO, for similar reasons that the vampire lord transform probably shouldn't be available in this game (except, maybe, as a polymorph collectible).

Because without the appearance (floating skeleton in tattered rags) you are just another magblade/sorceror with an ice staff vampire. If you get the look, well there goes player customization.

My suggestion is to make a magblade or sorc, get the lich armor, go stage 4 vampire, and use the soul shriven skin. And use nerien'eth monster set. Now you are essentially a player-lich.

Vampires are actually a superior form of undead, they were created by a God not the result of mortal experimentation, I'm the mod author of the Undeath immersive Lichdom for Skyrim so I know a lot more about Lichs then a LOT of people and your likely numbered among those people, Lichs are weak to fire, they do have souls infact one point of Lichdom is attempted soul-stacking, they also need to consume souls to maintain their power, Also you might not know this but it is possible for a Necromancer to transform someone into a Lich, why do you think they are so common?

Lamae Bal is literally a Goddess would literally eat a Lich for breakfast and Lord Harkon would as powerful as a Demiprince and would be having them for Dinner, trust me on that as well, Infact I know one person who did have a Lich for lunch.

This is a vampire feeding on the most powerful Lich in Tamriel proving that vampires are higher on the food chain, what do you wannabe Necromancers have to say to this evidence of your patron being turned into a vampires next meal?

To become a lich its not just a bite or a quick switch its a long process and not just anyone becomes a lich.

From what I know, it took Mannimarco a long time himself and this field is his specialty.

Wouldnt want to see 500 Liches running around Cyro anyway

Lol that is incorrect. Lich are way superior to vampires unless maybe its a vampire lord but I still dont think so.

What is your reference that lamae bal ate them for breakfast?

Also vampires are a LOT more common than lich.

A Daedra can transform you into a Lich, the Worm Cult even turned Queen Ayreens Brother if I recall so other people can transform you into one, a Necromancer cannot turn someone into a Vampire unless they were a Vampire themselves, A lich isn't even on the same level as a Vampire Lord, one is an Undead Mage who only power comes from their knowledge of spell casting, the other is a vampire who wields a portion of Molag Bal's Power and is much greater.

Lamae Bal would eat Lichs on the simple fact that her power is MUCH greater, her power increases for every vampire who would drink her blood making her ridiculously more powerful then even the King of Worms, Harkon was so powerful you needed a divine weapon AKA Auriel's Bow AKA the same weapon which launched the Heart of Lorkhan into the sky which crash landed and where Red Mountain was formed to overpower his blood magic, Also L Harkon is an anagram for Lorkhan, the L is the first letter in his title as "Lord", maybe he was a Shezzarine.

There are people who falsely believe that ES Lichs run on the same mechanics as those D&D Lichs, they do not and are much weaker in Elder Scrolls compared to their D&D Counterpart, they are also much easier to kill and it's also much easier to become one as well, as I stated another person can actually transform you into one and they don't even have to be a Lich themselves to do it, I should also state that if Lichs were so great then why Didn't Lord Harkon choose to become one? he was a King and therefor likely would of had the ability to become one had he sought it, Molag Bal could of turned him into one had he asked but he chose to be a Vampire Lord and now he wields a portion of the Daedric Princes Power.. how can a Lich even compare? Even in ES Legends the Vampire cards are more powerful then the only Lich card in the game.

Elder Scrolls have always treated Vampires, Lycanthropy and Lich's different than most MMO's.

They follow the old D&D 1st edition/Runequest Monster manuals, Lich's have always been common in those tabletop games, so a Lich wouldn't necessarily be more powerful than a Vampire
