Now that the Scorpio specs have been announced and it blows away PS4 pro and even has freesync support there is obviously going to be a flood of players wanting to switch from PlayStation to Xbox for their ESO gameplay.

Is Zenimax still not going to offer paid account transfers between platforms?
End the tedious inventory management game.

Nope, none. The PC to console was a ONE TIME ONLY event and for that they had to add the PC accounts to the console version before they went to Sony/Microsoft for release. Furthermore, I am sure this would also create a major legal and financial issue between Sony and Microsoft and that's not something ZOS wants to deal with.

Just go ahead and start with Xbox now, you will be good to go by the time Scorpio releases. Yes it sucks, i Started on PC then went to PS4 without character transfer and when the news of Pro and Scorpio got released i switched to Xbox knowing i wanted to get a Scorpio. So i have started over 3 times and now in slightly over 2 months on Xbox. It gives you a total different perspective of the game too once you start all over again and realize how big the power creep is.

That's nuts. I had about a thousand hours in PC before transfer to PS4 then regretfully played another thousand on PS4. That combined with like $200 in micro transactions I just can't sanction going back.

I'm sure plenty of players would happily drop $60 for an account transfer/merge service in addition to buying the game on the target platform.

Why zenimax wouldn't want to cash in on that is mind boggling.

I'd imagine Sony will follow suit and then you'll be able to continue using your PSN Account / Game Account? Just a matter of time, IMO.

PC to console was a disaster, as the PC had a loooong headstart.

I see no issues with XBOX/PS transfers from a balance perspective. I have friends that want to transfer from PS to XBOX.

PS doesn't want your friends to transfer to XBOX though, or PC for that matter. That's where the problem lies It's out of ZoS' territory once you're in Sony's or Microsoft's.

Yeah i feel ya man. Wish i could have transferred too so i feel your pain. Got a few million in a gold and gold mats sitting on my PS4 account plus about 5500 crowns and cant use none of it. Plus a Magicka DK that was at max CP a year ago.

Why can't people grasp the fact the Sony and Microsoft both see players as sources of revenue and they are not going to readily allow players to leave them and go to their rival without serious financial penalties to ZOS. Besides that, I would imagine there is a clause in their perspective contracts that doesn't allow ZOS to do this kind of thing for that exact reason.

Yeah it's more of an issue between Sony and Microsoft rather than ZoS.

That being said..it's flipping 2017 already. I remember gaming with people on Macs in the 90s when they had to wait like 6 months for a game to be released. Just make it work Microsoft and Sony.

I wish the game was cross-platform in general. If transfers open, I don't see why PC players can't play alongside PS4 or XB1 in the future.

Why would competing companies want to make it easier for players to leave them for their rival? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense from a financial perspective.

Couldn't Microsoft just make ESO a windows 10 enabled game? Add it to the "play anywhere" initiative?

That way you can play on a pc, but still through xbox live. And if people want to *** about mouse & keyboard advantages, couldn't they just limit it to controller only?

I literally just want to play ESO on a higher end machine without starting over from scratch.

Lol yeah no. You can shine a turd, but in the end its still a turd. I truly do hope it Microsoft earns a lot of profit from the Scorpio though. Sony needs some decent competition otherwise they'll get lazy, and take advantage of their monopoly on the console gaming industry.

If they can't do PC to console and console to PC. They certainly can't do console to console.

A 6 teraflop turd? That's 5 times Xbox one performance and if it hits a $500 price point than that's twice the performance per dollar of a gaming PC. That's huge. This AMD chip it's using is a big deal.

If anything, Xbox - > PC and PC - > Xbox would be the first/easiest one given Microsoft's desire to have their Windows/Xbox markets be the same eco-system.

I don't think that's realistic. The new Xbox is going to be extremely expensive, and those with an existing PS4 and ESO account probably won't really care enough to pay a pile of cash for what amounts to a modest upgrade. Console has been and always will be about convenience, and the ease of playing from the couch is no different than on a PS4 or the new upcoming Xbox. I doubt there will be a 'flood of players'. How would allowing people to play cross platform get people to leave?

If anything it gets them to stay. PS4 dominates Xbox in sales world wide. A lot of this is due to the better exclusive games. The other reason is due to exclusive games people take into account who owns what system when buying. I only have a PS4 cause that is what like 90% of the friends that game have.

If I could cross platform play a game like ESO I might have bought an Xbox over PS4. Microsoft would have made more money on a system sale, and annual Xbox Live sub. Instead that money went to Sony.

It still has a terrible interface, a terrible controller for fighting games, and the exclusives are underwhelming in comparison to Sony's. The hardware may be superior, but when the required system specs is much lower than what both the Pro, and the Scorpion can dish out; what difference does it make?

Considering the talks that has happend between MS and Sony over the past year I think things like this and even cross play like FFXIV has is inevitable.
