But crafters win on this event. I am averaging 2.5 motifs per 6 writs (per toon). So far Glass, Akaviri, Celestial and Xivkyn.

We need to do something to that market. Some of these motifs end up being 300,000 to 800,000 Gold at current prices. Way too much for me to ever buy.

Yes, some of the prices are reflecting the time and effort it takes to get these, but does not mean I will ever want to spend that much.

Glass is already so cheap that motif pages cost almost the same as the resin used to produce them. Some pages sell for 11K or less and the resin is 10K.

Oh, I think this is a fantastic image correction for ZoS, even if temporary. The whole motifs-tied-to-master-writs thing came off as a total money grab and made a huge amount of people bitterly angry in-game. This could repair some of that damage.

One crafter with no motifs. Instead, 5 heartwood, 5 mundane runes, 5 bast and a blue furnishing recipe I have not seen before.

This could be my all time favorite event!

Edit:
Another with no motifs but a slew of style mats, furniture recipes and 10-20 flowers a pop.
Another with thieves guild, minotaur and outlaw motifs.
Another with ancient orc and covenant, recipe and other stuff.

i have not seen glass yet but hour, akaviri, draugr etc etc etc...

i agree... my sales on motifs are going to drop bigly and i am deliriously happy to see that happen.

this is a well done set of rewards.

Add abah's watch, yokudan. I have not seen a single trinimac or malacath. There are others I haven't seen, but those are hard for me to get ahold of and stick out in my mind.

Received both a fortified and potent nirncrux. A gold temper here or there.

I'm looking forward to playing tonight and seeing what my rewards are. I don't do many dailies outside of writs, but I usually do those on all my toons - well, the equipment ones I don't do all that often on my alts, since it burns through mats pretty quickly. But, I'm gonna re-spec all of them to tier one on gear crafting since I don't use them to craft, just to do writs for extra cash/mats (and they're all only tier 2 or 3 right now anyway). Since tier 1 gear writs are self-sustaining (most of the time, you get 25 refined iron/maple/etc., which is almost enough for the next day's writ), I can do them every day on my alts and not have to worry about mats for the duration of the event (I already have about a 1000 of each of the mats).

Forgot to add that I'm looking forward to the motif market coming down a bit. I'm on XB, and prices seem to have gone up a bit since Homestead launched. I did see a few Ra Gada motifs for $5K each yesterday, so I purchased the remaining I didn't have and learned the entire motif.

But, some others are still overpriced. Yes, there is effort involved, but there's still an awful lot of RNG in the mix, and those that get lucky like to charge astronomical prices. I just don't pay them. I wait until I see something under my max price, which, incidentally, has gone up over the past 6 months or so as prices have risen. This means, though, that I'm usually an update or two behind in the new motifs.

@nestor - holy,cow...what platform are you on and which motifs are going for 300-800k?? I'm going to go farm those, lol. My whole empire was built on shady motif deals.

The market crash in motif prices shouldn't last long. I'd say a couple of months and the surplus motifs should make their way out of the game. And here's how I'll handle it:

But fortunately those 500 Hollowjack motifs you bought stack now...so yeah, we can pile it into long term storage. We might need to decon the Trinimacs armor, though.

@davey1107 When Chapters are listed for 20K to 100K and it takes 14 chapters, it adds up real fast. Also, that Ebony Motif (which is probably not part of the loot table) I have seen offered at upwards of 800K to 1M. although prices have settled to the sub 500K range lately.

Okay, but now we need ZOS to add Appearance Slots (my preference) or convert any gear to known motif styles (like imperial conversion) so the motifs will once again be used as they were before the 3 sets per dungeon and per overworld.

Yeah, ha, whole collections are spendy. I wonder how much I've spent/made? 15 million? No idea.

The money isn't the worst thing to me...it's searching guild stores. If I want to buy a chapter I just go earn a roughly equivalent chapter of something else. Ten minutes...bam...abahs watch legs. Sell and buy celestial helms. But the search is soooooooooooooo horrible. One of the only reasons my main learned the uglier motifs is so I can fast scroll through five hundred listings and watch for "already in library" to flicker over to "use to learn". Awful UX...just awful.

Looks like I am going to have inventory issues due to excess motifs and furniture plans, just like I did with the witches festival last year with motifs and recipes coming out of my ears.

I will be getting about 50 of these jubilee boxes a day just from my normal activities - 45 daily writs plus undaunted and other daily quests. Hopefully it will finish off the motif collections I am after but I expect inventory to be an issue all the same.

Maybe I'll just have all of my characters learn all of the motifs, so not only will I have multiple 8 trait crafters, but they will all know the rare motifs as well.

Cyrodiil hub quests are amazing for this. You also get the new Cyrodiil boxes with purple jewelry, etc.

If that is all that full book is worth now... i guess i'll just use it instead of sell it... considering most people payed for master writs at an average of 3k/writ... and the motif costs 300 writs...just that could be 900k gold spent... then you add in all of the materials that were used (tempers,style mats, etc.)
I wouldn't let that thing go for anything less than 1 million... even that is pushing it on a price after so much time was spent on earning it.

I have always believe that the Mats are worth more then any final product. but it just may take longer to sell the mats! that goes for motifs. i rather sell the master writ then say complete the writ by ebony book then try to sell the book?
