I was on master difficulty and fighting in a dungeon against an archer, suddenly took a hit from them and the killcam showed my ragdoll body flung backwards into a wall, when it came to rest I kid you not, the arrow was in my characters knee.

Just like so many things on the Internet... grammar does not apply here. I have always heard "to the knee" maybe for the grammar people "to [sic] the knee" would help calm your nerves a little?

No, it's not. That came from a Tumblr post claiming so which went viral (well, it claimed it was an old Norse phrase.) Then people started doing research and nobody found any evidence that such a phrase ever existed. And then people found the Reddit thread where "arrow in the knee = getting married" originated as a joke. Bethesda later said in an interview that the line was added to give the guards more personality, and some eventually asked the guy who actually wrote the line, Emil Pagrulio, why the knee: he said he just thought it sounded like a survivable injury.Edited by Alarra on April 5, 2017 2:40PMUESP - Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995.
