Not so much, according to WHO? ESO has been 'MMO of the Year', what, two years in a row now?

    Puh-lease. Based on what?

I love the game, but let's not get carried away with the marketing.

    Here is 2015

    Bored of poor performance.
I'm sure the only reason a lot of people still play on console is a lack of other options. Multiplayer connection is an absolute shocker. Any other game, no issues at all.
Newsflash, people outside of North America play this game.
Oh ok then I'll do VMA, oh wow best score run ever on last boss and disconnect because 'spamming too many messages' or some rubbish.

This is an MMO, not a single player game, even ZOS has said that their biggest challenge has been getting ES players to understand that ESO is NOT like previous ES games.

Not their biggest challenge but their biggest mistake.

Those previous ES games were all blockbuster successes. ESO, not so much.

Our biggest challenge has been getting ZO to understand that ESO should be more like previous ES games.

EXACTLY!! Here's some info for ya... of the top 25 titles, Skyrim and one other are the ONLY non-Nintendo games in the top 25. See... the problem isnt that the game itself is boring. Slogging thru a year of research, 50,000 runs in the same raid/quest to get 1 gold item and on and on. The RNGeebus grind is utterly ridiculous.

Oh and a link to that top 25 claim is in order I guess. Just so you dont think I just pulled it out of my ear.

    Snipped for brevity

As for the research, yes, it takes a long time to learn every trait, but once you get to the 6th or 7th trait, you can craft Hunding's Rage, Julianos and Clever Alchemist, which are probably the most popular. And there are many relatively cheap sets you can buy from guild traders.

Some of the better housing writs require 9 trait.

First, Im one of those people who wants to play everything and learn the game on my own. I dont want to run in and search for the optimal builds and skip everything including know why that's the optimal build. I want to get the good gear and craft some of my own. I want to grab achievements and have fun within the game the way I have always done in ES. (I own them all including the SEs and Enderall) But seriously... some of this could be streamlined. Running the same quest/raid/whatever over and over in the hopes of possibly/maybe/on the off chance I get what Im looking for or spending a year to get research completed... BORING! Waiting around for groups when I could be playing... BORING! And new content isnt going to change that.

The grind of this game is ridiculous. Im a die hard ES fan. Always have been and always will be. But the grind of this game has me looking at my PC and asking... Do I really want to waste my time? Do I really enjoy this any more?

And it's getting to the point where I just shut down TESO and play the other ES games or go hang with friends in games Im not really into.

So... Unless I can figure out how to change the entire gaming ownership's point of view that say the player lives for the grind. Im going to remain bored. Yes... I realize that Im probably a singular voice. But then... maybe not.

it seems your issue is you expect it to be the same as a singleplayer ES game, sadly it being mmo first TES second makes it more grindy. But honestly if you run the quests you can lvl quite quickly, i personally have not had much trouble. I even enjoyted the story for the main quest lines of the factions. If you came to eso expecting the same amount of "grind" as the singleplayer then sadly you will never find it.

    L2P

I love how someone always drops the L2P. Even when it barely makes any sense.

On some level you may be correct. And I have played a lot of MMOs. Yes, I also enjoyed the story line and questing. Pretty close to having done all of the quests in all three faction zones. I just didnt expect the massive grind for gear. Which bores me. I have 8 characters. All leveled, almost all of them horse leveled and right now, to avoid said grind(and yeah I know how this sounds) Im doing offquestline acheivements like I like Mai'q, Fishing, the relics for the museum in Wrothgar, etc. (only on my main) to avoid the grind. And Im running out of things to do that dont require sitting in a queue for anywhere from 20 minutes to hours. It's horrible. I bought the game to play it not sit and wait or play the same content hoping I MIGHT get what I'm needing. I spent a week grinding dolmen day in and day out to get 3 purple pieces of jewelry. FYI- Im retired and spend up to 14 hours on the game a day. So a week of my time translates to a month or more of normal gaming time.

There are daily quests in Wrothgar and daily quests in The Gold Coast you can do as well.

Go into Cyrodiil and find and complete all the random quests, like the serial killer quest.

There's also helping new players with various things, crafting gear for them, walking them through clearing delves, WBs and dolmens in a particular zone, or taking a group of them into Cyrodiil for newbie pvp or skyshards or town quests.

Open up your Achievements menu and see what you have not achieved yet. Yes some achievements are grindy, but some are not, such as jumping off a certain peak in Stormhaven or Wrothgar, or finding Maiq the Liar in all zones.

There's a lot to do other than grinding BiS gear.

i just use crafted gear to be honest, why bother farming gear that will be obsolete in a few months. as for your time, i work from home and itso nly 2 hours a day. so my time is spent on mmos, though i have found playing eso/gw2/swtor and some others in a mix helps keep things freash. ATM im taking a break from eso for a week.

I'm honestly confused how people can get bored with ESO. There is so much to do! :D

    a) Grinding.

Seriously, do not even start. You choose to grind. The game doesn't force you.

I'm wearing 5 Julianos and am adamant about not grinding BSW. I say, "Nope, gtfo, I'm not doing that, I'll hate the game, I do what I want, NO GRINDING BSW". No BSW, no Maelstrom weapons, I can't be bothered honestly.

Got my invitation to vet trial just several days ago on a basis of DPS test.

    "You know, maybe BSW..."

    "NO!"

    "Duh... Ok".

    That was it.

You don't want to grind? Don't grind. Easy as that. Skill matters much more.

    b) You're bored?

Find yourself a guild. Go get some awesome skins and achievements is DLS dungeons. Talk to people, get into guild events.

Make another chars. I'm thoroughly enjoying leveling my baby-heal now. Healing is honestly whole new different game! Very cool!

PUG a lot. I love that! You never know whom you'll get. Sometimes you destroy the dung with cool 600CPs. Sometimes it's adorable newbies - show them the ropes, help them, it's always fun. Sometimes it's frustrating, but how rewarding it is to prevail in spite of everything :)

Stop grinding. You don't need it. You don't have to.

It's a game. Just play it. Everything else will come in time.
