Getting bored.

First, Im one of those people who wants to play everything and learn the game on my own. I dont want to run in and search for the optimal builds and skip everything including know why that's the optimal build. I want to get the good gear and craft some of my own. I want to grab achievements and have fun within the game the way I have always done in ES. (I own them all including the SEs and Enderall) But seriously... some of this could be streamlined. Running the same quest/raid/whatever over and over in the hopes of possibly/maybe/on the off chance I get what Im looking for or spending a year to get research completed... BORING! Waiting around for groups when I could be playing... BORING! And new content isnt going to change that.

The grind of this game is ridiculous. Im a die hard ES fan. Always have been and always will be. But the grind of this game has me looking at my PC and asking... Do I really want to waste my time? Do I really enjoy this any more?

And it's getting to the point where I just shut down TESO and play the other ES games or go hang with friends in games Im not really into.

So... Unless I can figure out how to change the entire gaming ownership's point of view that say the player lives for the grind. Im going to remain bored. Yes... I realize that Im probably a singular voice. But then... maybe not.

    @jaye63

To me there is never, I mean never a dull moment in TESO. I first usually make sure I did all my writs that I can when I go on. All 6 craftings for more chances to get a master writ. Once that is done I do the random normal daily. I would do vet but it gives similar rewards for the queue but vet takes 10x longer with general pug groups. Besides normals are funner because you get to teach new players the boss mechanics and what to do. Just yesterday in elden hollow 2 or fungal grotto 2 (I always get those 2 places mixed up) I was teaching a group the parts where the lady with spiderlings to kite away the spiderlings if you are marked and to only focus on her. Then the part when you finish the second to last boss and have to run past all the ghost assassins and jump into the sewer river to fight the final boss at the entrance. Anyways a little off topic but after that, I can go skyshard hunting lorebook and when I am done with skills for a bit or done with lv10 mages guild I can go up my fighters guild with the zombies at Vile Lab in coldharbour or even at dolmens. Can also work on main quests, Cadwells gold, silver. After alll that you can look for designs, blueprints or any of that to decorate your house. If you havent a house yet you can farm coins many many different ways. I even had prosperous purple julianos gear just for that fun purpose. After that you can always PVP in Cyrodiil try out new sets by farming monster helms/undaunted keys. And sometimes its just fun to hang out and chat with people like play the /lute, /flute, /drum. And if you all got the quest reward that turns you all into goblins well that just makes it more fun!

Just what I am trying to say is have fun! No matter what you do, who you meet, or where you are going, enjoy the game. Instead of looking up things and guides its okay too just ask in /z chat. Sure there are many jokesters but there are sincere players out there too that genuinely want to help out! So do not fear to chat it up!

Vouchers are not all there are to decorate a house with. I've spent hundreds of thousands of gold, and tens of thousands of AP on Furniture merchants to decorate my house. Built a lot of furniture, and wax food, from the designs I've found to decorate my house. Vouchers have come down in price, and are still falling so they're becoming affordable - they're not necessary by any means though.

Your bolded comment above is your problem, you came here expecting "Skyrim with friends" which this is NOT. This is an MMO, not a single player game, even ZOS has said that their biggest challenge has been getting ES players to understand that ESO is NOT like previous ES games. An MMO plays differently and has to cater to MILLIONS of players playing at the same time, they have to add content that last months, not "instant gratification" like single player games; MMOs are all about grinding and repetition.

In regards to queuing up for normal dailies, I agree. It's much faster. As well, I believe the same xp is rewarded as Veteran for completing it. For passing time and getting the most xp, non vet daily is nearly a no Brainer option to follow.

Not so much, according to WHO? ESO has been 'MMO of the Year', what, two years in a row now?

Further, this isn't supposed to be "Skyrim with friends" and isn't supposed to be like previous ES games; this is an Elder Scrolls MMO, not an ES single-player game.

I can kinda understand where you're coming from. Also an Elder Scrolls fan and this is my first MMO. If I have a limited time to play, I'm going to spend it in PVP, doing whatever I enjoy instead of grinding the same dungeon over and over.

I agree it's more fun to research and try different sets to come up with your own build ideas rather than simply copying some build without understanding what makes it better than X or Y. But the most extreme min/max builds that you see heavily promoted (which tend to require a lot of grinding) are really only needed if you are trying to compete at the highest level in endgame PVE speed runs, veteran trials, etc.

There is a much wider range of builds that work for completing most veteran and normal dungeons and in the case of PVP, there is still a lot of room to come up with your own build ideas that others have not tried yet.

Currently working on a video series to showcase some builds using gear that can be acquired easily from guild traders or the AP Cyrodiil vendor, with no grinding needed at all.

As for the research, yes, it takes a long time to learn every trait, but once you get to the 6th or 7th trait, you can craft Hunding's Rage, Julianos and Clever Alchemist, which are probably the most popular. And there are many relatively cheap sets you can buy from guild traders.

The game is what you make of it.

Ive been here since beta and Im still loving the game and having a ton of fun.

I have 12 max level characters and 750 CP and I did no grinding whatsoever.

Researching traits isnt that bad. You just start whatever is being researched and it happens while you do other things.
There are tons of crafters around that will make low level stuff for research often free so you dont have to hunt a particular trait down.

I get stuff as I play and as I go along. I might go do a few anchors or delves somewhere and see what I get, I dont spend hours and hours grinding a zone for drops unless Im trying to raise gold fast. If I get bored, I switch characters and go do something else.

I hear ya OP! I am so over endlessly running dungeons to get gear with decent traits, only to face yet another disappointment. It was fun at first when I hadn't done all the dungeons but now that i have done them all it's just tedious & I really can't be bothered.

PVP is still fun for me but I always wish I had better gear! Catch22 !
