I wish there was an "other".

It takes me a while to create a character that I stick with.

I could end up creating and deleting 20+ Wardens before I get one I like well enough to level up.

Yes. Ive been with eso since early development and was really disappointed that they pulled warden from the class last prior to beta. I played druid and shaman mains in wow for four years (and later a death knight), and I love nature based classes.

I had hoped for more druid like play, rather than ranger like, but I'm still super psyched to finally have my nature class coming to eso. I'm a little on the fence about how I'll build the character tough - I love tanking, I want a hybrid character, but a stamina warden looks like it will be more effective overall. I also want to put the new frost staff changes to use, and it looks like that would mesh really well with a warden tank.

We'll see how things turn out, but I'm thinking a stamina tank geared just a bit more towards damage than full on survivability, hopefully with enough magicka to freely use ice shards, arctic wind, and the heals.

Unlikely. My main hasn't changed since the start.
Warden should get equal playtime though.

From what we've seen in ESO Live the Animal tree is ridiculously strong (aside from the stam morphs obviously) to the point where there isn't really anything that comes close in terms of damage and buffs.... So I'm probably going to ditch my Sorc (which will get nerfed hard) and Stamblade for a Warden yes.

So far I am not impressed with it's skill lines. Seems like sort of a strange pets / tank heavy focus. I am not sure it will do anything well. Magnitudes can always change anything and maybe a few skills will be crazy op like perhaps that bear ulti that is persistent and could be mad passive dps. In that case you will need to play it to matter but I do not currently see it's skills making it particularly good at anything.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

I'm looking forward to the Warden simply because it's something fresh and different. I like the idea of playing with the bear. But I'll want to try out the class first before deciding what to do with it. My stamina Templar main is currently in a really good spot DPS-wise, so it will also depend on whatever balance changes ZOS makes and how they will affect the Templar.

I mean.... yes. I can't really put it any other way.

I have mained Magicka Sorc since launch and it has taken up like 99% of my game time.

June 6th marks the day my Mag Sorc retires. I'll stick with my Warden regardless of whether it's OP, balanced, or underpowered.

Don't like the bear. I like the nature/ranger aesthetic. Like that it has lots of ranged support for bows. I will have to level it up and see how I feel about it. Wish it had been here all along, I've invested 3 years into this game and 2 years into my main, disappointed that so much of what I want is only now becoming available.

Yes! I can't wait to try a different class :) I'm in need of something fresh and new in this game.

I'm very excited for the warden. Always wanted something like this for my main. I have a nb healer and a nb bow build bosmer That are both going out the window for warden stam bowpet dps and warden healer with nature magic. And maybe a frost tank even and I've never tanked before! It looks promising and exciting and finally a buttload of new skills to play with.

I may, but unless there is a melee version of the class, it will probably be a slow leveling alt. I have been a melee lover since FF2, even if it isn't the best. I've never really been a fan of casting spells, though I did have fun with my mage when oblivion came out.

Most of the time I don't care for Magic wielding characters as my PC and Warden from what we know seems slanted to Magicka builds. If for some reason I played it and enjoyed the game play I would main it, but it's doubtful.

ESO is a bit of a loss for me with Stamina underperforming in PVE and Stamina Nightblade worst of it. Truthfully, unless the Morrowind PTS shows promise for bringing Stamina on par with Magicka I'll most likely not be getting the expansion right away in favor of FFXIV: Stormblood which is also releasing in June, and bringing with it Samurai as one of the new playable DPS jobs.

Of course it will be my main. Like ALL MMOs that come out with new classes, at first the Warden will be extremely overpowered compared to all of the other classes, so that means everyone will want to play it.

Why even ask such a silly question? That's the way it's been with EVERY MMO I've ever played that's introduced a new class hidden behind a paywall.

Wtf does this mean your main ? The 1st character you made in eso should be your main. Lol At least thats what i feel ?

If people have to switch to what is OP broken or bugged for the month chances are their not very good at the game.

Not everyone cares about "winning" or getting "top DPS." At a certain point enough is enough for any content and the need for more is just obsession.

Honestly I think the emphasis ZOS has put on leaderboards and exclusivity of Crown items is bordering about as close to the slippery slope of pay to win as one can get without taking the penguin plunge.

It is why people bring Cheat Engine into vMA, why they pay guilds of opposing faction players to farm AP, and why people get so worked up over meaningless PVP kills that they send profanity-laced death threats to other players like angry German kid (of Youtube fame) bashing his keyboard.

It is a totally unhealthy direction that leads people to die of embolisms live on 24 hour Twitch marathons desperate for attention and upvote sponsors, but I get that ZOS wants to make money at all cost so they happily encourage it anyway since they know it is the addicted OCD personality types that drop the big wads.

But to me, something FAR more important than the highest score or the biggest DPS is HOW MUCH FUN IT IS TO PLAY.

If the Warden mechanics and spell effects are fun and visually appealing, I will play it. If they fit with my idea of the lore behind such characters, I will play it.

I could care less about comparing damage meters.

Fun is however incredibly subjective. High scores and big DPS numbers could easily be the fun of others, and that is as valid a way as any to enjoy the game.

Indeed. I may not agree with how much emphasis ZOS puts on the competitive/exclusive side of marketing, but I accept that other people have different ideas of fun.

So long as it doesn't take away from MY idea of fun, I'm cool with it.

Obviously it will get my significant playtime when it comes out since it needs leveling etc.

But i doubt evrn then it will get more than a third of my time.

Roughly i would guess a third to warden, a third to dailies and a third to one or two current chars running thru morrowind content.

Long run, IDK. I am primarily solo player so its support group focus may not meet my needs, though its swiss army knife may do fine for me. Wont know how that shakes out until i see it in play but i get a sort of dk-like vibe from it so far and i am not a dk fan myself.

I have always played a pet class and was sorely disappointed with the Sorcerers in this game. I don't like the mechanics or the aesthetics of pet sorcs at all.

I was used to making my pet tank while I heal and dps for it. Could solo most everything in the games that had it (slowly but it works). Even spent months trying to tweak mods for Skyrim so I could get my preferred playstyle. Even played through Fallout 3 and NV with my focus on those weak af "pets".

So yeah I'm real pumped to finally have my hunter class back. I've grown rather attached to my Templar and nightblade and they are so far along I'll never abandon them completely but man.... the warden is my jam

I'm probably going to stop playing the PC version entirely when I get a copy for my 'box, if only because it's getting more and more unresponsive on my computer, and I literally cannot set the graphics any lower.

So with that, I'll need to make a brand new character and start the entire game from scratch. I'm inevitably going to try it, but I'm probably going to "main" either a healer or a sorcerer.

It does seem like an interesting all-rounder class from what I've seen of it, so there's a possibility, at least.
