Yes. I'm beyond pi55ed at the moment and want to suspend my sub (NOT cancel!) because of the stupid crashing issues. But I would absolutely buy a lifetime sub. :)

that literally would be like handing your wallet to a guy in a stripey t-shirt with a bag marked 'swag' over his shoulder. ZOS have already delivered virtually nothing for the sub and reclassified future deliverables so they don't have to deliver those either. Who knows what they'd do once they had a queue of naive life-time subbers.

And I speak as a ESO+ subber since beta until Jan this year. It really was not worth it at all.

I have been sub any time I have played the game but I would rather they didn't do a lifetime sub option.

Simply because it's not a great business model for them, a bunch of money up front and then never having reliable steady income again from that person.

TBH I have always felt lifetime subs are options given by games that know they won't last a very long time and want to grab cash whilst they can.

I'll sub for as long as I think it is worth it. But subbing for the lifetime of a game without knowing whether I will feel the same in the future, or indeed have the time to play in the future, would be a bit naive on my part.

    Depend of the price.
And for the records i still play Morrowind....

If you're someone who stays continually subbed and has not dropped it for a loooong time then I'd say it's worth it.

Personally I don't think I could ever do this. I see lack of care put into fixing endgame PvE on console.... all that is left for me in ESO is to run Trials. Two of the four trials we have are hopelessly broken since Homestead. An entire month went by in silence to this with the most recent response telling us they were making no progress. It's just a very bad sign imo breaking paid content like MoL of all places way after launch.

Foolish to hope on it. ZoS will set the cost in thousands dollars and will finde a way to "force" life time subscribers pay more for some how (like current ESO+ bonuses to force people directly unlocked all DLCs buy it).
And of course they will not give us any lifetime subscription in next 2-3 years till people ready to eat any gambling boxes and apperance changers.

I would, ESO is the only MMO I play and there is nothing on the horizon, that is even remotely interesting to me. I got a lot of miles out of my LOTRO life time sub, this would be no different.

    In principle yes.

I regret missing out on the LOTRO Lifetime Sub, and friends who had it not only played the game a LOT more than I (which was a tough thing to do as I sometime managed 25+hours/week), but they also all bought TP (Crowns) regularly to supplement what they were getting from the Sub.

However, my feeling is that just about everything in the ESO Store is significantly over-priced already, sometime 2 or 3 times what would be considered anything like reasonable; and I fear any Lifetime Sub price-point would be similarly over-priced.

Yes life time sub simply say they have economical issues or don't see an future in the game.

Not very many would do life time subs. Like me. I'm fickle about games and never know if Im going to stay with them or not. This one... even if it were no sub I would still play. But having the option is nice.

Games only offer lifetime subscriptions when they need money, typically for development or paying off debts shortly after development. It's been 3 whole years since ESO was in development and they've had sub money pouring in and periodically successful cash grabs in the crown store. They don't need the money so they won't be offering them.

Even if they were, however, I wouldn't buy it. Years ago I would have bought one for LotRO, and I have already bought one for CU. In the case of LotRO, when I did actually play, it would have been a good investment for my time. I hope CU will end up being a good investment for my time. ESO I do not think would be a good investment, partly for the reason I canceled my sub after a year in November, and partly because it wouldn't help me pay for morrowind, which I'm on the fence about but I have a feeling I'll end up getting.

Yes but then Zos would probably find some way to not honor the agreement forcing you to buy more stuff. They would come out with some "chapter" that wouldn't apply to the life time subscription.

    I can vouch for this.

I have a lifetime sub for Star Trek Online and that entitles me to having my main character being chronically bugged for more than a year with the bug getting worse over time. Many other players were complaining about this bug on the forums.

After multiple bug reports and being told by their CS they couldn't help and never to bother them again (not because I'd been even remotely rude or unpleasant but because they couldn't fix bugs so I was supposed to just suck it), I had to threaten them with legal action to get the bug fixed.

Cos they already had a huge fistful of my money and didn't give a flying truck about losing me as a paying customer.

Regarding ESO, I think it's far too late in the day to be thinking about lifetime subs. The $15 sub has had its day. Except for WOW I think it's largely dead in large part due to GW2 offering a quite good game without a sub. Sucks for games with explosive budgets like ESO which were banking on a sub but the market is what it is.

Meanwhile their single-player games - which didn't have subs - were blockbuster successes. With similar sales figures and no sub, ESO could have been similarly successful... except that they didn't tailor ESO to their captive audience and instead bastardized it (eg. by having classes) in an attempt to appeal to people outside the 23+ million gamers who bought Skyrim.

Weird, somehow I don't think much about paying for my cell phone monhly "subscription" 24 months in a row, but I feel like robbed from cash when it comes to pay for game subscription. Maybe it's the choice I have or not have.
The prices for both are the same. Life is strange :).

I would hate that! It would be completely unfair to the people who purchased the DLC in a pack or separately. I would maybe, had I not already bought the 4- Pack DLC. Or if they refunded the crowns from that and put them forth as part of the payment for the perm sub. The only reason I would really want sub is for the DLC but since I already bought it it would be really unfair. Sure you get crafting bags but I have no need for that with my baby 12 person guild that we all share the 500 bank spots for our mats of every type and level. Then there is the exp boost but with psijjic + super psijiic + Mara scroll + event + training gear is there really a need for the little extra exp Sub gives?

    No and Yes -

ZOS betrayed the one trust you just can't do as a company in a genre where you can change just about anything else -- promising all future content via paid sub, then bait/switch reclassify Morrowind to be different new content.

Yes - ESO is totally worth my sub (craft bag, etc)
Yes - ESO as a game, despite flaws and hiccups here and there, has been well worth my time and entertainment fees (e.g. sub costs, store purchases, etc)

No - because ZOS showed their word, the only thing that matters when you get down to it, is worth nothing, I place no credibility in any future promise of delivery. So a lifetime sub would be meaningless because there would be zero faith in the terms of the bargain.

Look at it this way, if 5 million people all had lifetime subscriptions, then the developers wouldn't feel the need to constantly improve the game any longer. Having subscriptions that expire after a half year keeps them on their toes, so they'll really, really care about putting out the best game possible so they can get you to re-subscribe.
