The game is a little less about classes and more about builds with classes, the rankings also change once to twice a year with updates. If you're concerned about playing something weak then play it safe like a Dunmer Fire DK which is good all round and has bonuses which work well together.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

You do realise it's not possible to balance class skills perfectly? Unless of course everyone has exactly the same skills which in turn results in everyone running nearly identical builds.
The developers actually do their job pretty well since ESO, believe it or not, is a skill game and in my trials I'd rather have a good player on a stamplar than a bad player on a magsorc.*
*As long as that stamplar was the only stamplar in that trial.

This ^ Exactly. No class / race should be OP when compared. Furthermore - all classes should have ability to counter other classes. Especially when it comes to let's say duels or cyrodiil PvP.If we could actually make this list, that will mean the developers have failed at their job.
Right now in cyrodiil like 90% of players run Mag Sorcerer and spam Haunting Curse (with is in many cases fire & forget button) and also stack shields...
Similar situation is in PvE. All top scores on Trials / Arenas are sorcerers (sometimes a Templar will show up but I saw it at best at 3rd place).
I guess there is a good reason for that...

I put the templar way lower ever since they nerft Jesus beam and blazing shards , a stam dk will trash a stamsorc(better sustain, better self-heals, harder hitting ultimate), also a mag dk will nuke a sorc (well more like stunning him into submission lol)

Saw somebody who had tested bis builds of the 8 classes and dps was pretty close as in 40-45k range who is pretty close so Gear is more important here, not sure how it would look with crafted / overland gear.Grinding just make you go in circles.

Stam templar is getting up there since people are using it more because of the decent buffs that they got in the homestead update, stam nb and mag nb in the other hand never get any love at all and are still the hardest class to play in pvp and extremely underwhelming in pve, a small mistake can cost dearly as an nb player with barely any resistance and heals.
There is no reason to run an nb over the other classes unless you want to gank and be hated by everyone. There are those rare people that very very good with night blades but those are rare, even dro m'athra destroyers that run other classes have expressed how the nb's rotation is too ugly.Edited by Kalante on April 1, 2017 10:13AM2 -

Agreed, I've seen great magsorcs but the majority I have seen are squishy, and cheese their rotation to get acceptable parses. I'm not dissing the class, but they have their faults. Stam templar at least has alot of splash dmg for trash pulls and good st dps as well as can keep potl with good uptime. I'll admit with complete honesty that I've seen better dps from mag sorcs than other stam templars in vet pugs, but better sustain/survivability from stam templar.
Really it just comes down to player skill. we did a score run with 4 stam dps in group and hit #11. My ex guild that was magdps only hit #94 (still makes me gigglefit)0 -

✭It's pretty hard to make a real list in PvP, because there is classes that have counters in other classes. And also, heavy armor is overperforming, making impossible a real order
But there are few things I'm sure :
1) Stam dk = Mag dk => Great 1vX possibility, great damage, best tankiness, good heal => Best Damage and survivability possible.
8) Magblade => not good synergize with heavy armor, hardest burst to make, wearing underperforming armor and using the hardest burst.0 -

So they remove a stun and that becomes a major nerf to a skill?!? They lower an already OP skill, and that breaks a class? I don't think so. A Templar should not be reliant on only TWO skills, and they definitely shouldn't be solely reliant on a stun for their success. Hahaha. I will use this as evidence the next time a nerf Magplars thread comes about. My character is still OP AF. Why? Cause I don't listen to the FOTM kids and keep the same guy, only with minor adjustments, during each patch.
Also, for what it's worth, I've died to more stam sorcs than any other class and it's not even close. Here is a ranking of works best against me, which will be different from yours because that's how balance works.

- Magblade
- Magsorc
- Magtemp
- Stamblade
- StamDK
- Stamplar
- MagDK

3)magplar -still great dps, great utility
4)stam dk - good single target dps
5)stam sorc - same as stam dk
6)magblade -only not bad dps but in range, this is only his plus
7)stamblade -the worst single and aoe dps in game bypassing stamplar as I know
8)stamplar -under everything in dps, only power of the light nice to support but now it is using just be healers in support
btw I was not counting range or melee to this

I agree with most of your list except for PvE StamSorc... with Steel Tornado, Hurricane, Acid Spray and Endless Hail, they also have great AoE... and with Crit Surge... an excellent self-heal... and having Clannfear out, excellent aggro draw.
