I get more frustrated when I am trying to complete a quest and people are farming the boss I need to kill. I had this yesterday trying to complete a quest in Craglorn. Seriously, if you're going to farm for gold just steal from safeboxes and NPCs.

I tried to do another quest and people were doing it again. I do not think these are bots because they are using the text chat to sell or tell people NOT to kill something. I couldn't even do the World Boss during the Hew's Bane anniversary because too many farming for motifs.
Don't say that. this one was in Orsinium, looking at orc funiture design then Khajiit suddely had an large orc behind this one.
This one was afraid as he looked like an guard but it was another player.
Its very distracting having lots of players arond then Khajiit is inside houses.
Its lots of quests. dungeons and raids. All is nice, also PvP as long as you fight for Dominion.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I've noticed large unnatural influx as well on PS4, I did put in a ticket for it however and got a response so maybe it'll help if enough people report it

Lol! Console plebs r feeling the wrath of bots too trust me. Welcome to 2017! Don't b so naive to think consoles can't b broken n hacked jus like PC's nowadays. Google can b ur best friend at times bruh.

I don't believe in witch hunts. It leads to people with legit gaming practices being accidentally banned. The dolmen bots were greatly reduced on PC-NA. I believe there were GMs spotted in game as well in connection with this.

Every time I go past the dolmen near Vulkhel Guard on PC NA, there are at least two guys there running constant attacks. Usually destruction staff, but occasionally a bow, and a few are crazy enough to go melee. There seems to be a third guy there that runs cover and heals to make sure that the bots don't get disturbed. This does not mean that I won't run across a dead character, from time to time. I guess not everyone enlists guards.

These people change enough that I think that botting at the dolmen isn't a long term thing, like running a circuit in Shadowfen or Rivenspire. I don't know if these players are getting banned or whether it is some player doing this between play sessions. I seriously doubt that anyone is getting banned.

That is rubber band, not an actual bot. A bot is the use of a third party program to automate your toon.

    Still a bannable offense.

Rubber banding is the simplest form of botting, followed by macros, then finally we reach the pathing and combat bots.

Anytime a character is automated to perform a determined outcome especially over an extended period of time with no interaction from the player that is botting. It does not matter if the input is hardware, software, or physical(rubberbanding, jamming keys, etc). A bot is a bot.

A few nights back I was questing in Auridon and I stumbled upon a large group of players (probably 10-15) just hudled up in a small corner, they all have the same exact username except a few numbers off. I'm trying to think of what the hell is this and then right as I turn around after standing there for five minutes, I see abnormally large groups of mobs all dead in one spot, and then the worst part is that the mobs never went away. It just stayed there until I left. I am getting so sick and tired of this game in general. I ask myself every time I come on here why I still play this game. Then I remember that it is a fun game to play, it's just that they don't fix anything and it makes my blood pressure rise through the roof. I have anger issues, enough said...

@Mephisto939 I find it laughable how all of these botters are leveling up magicka sorcerers. I bet that if they didn't have the pets, they would be highly unsuccessful at doing this.

What perplexes me about all of this, is how easily it can be done. I mean that as, companies have these completely amazing games that come out, people go absolutely ape over them, but they have no security. Not even a loud alarm when someone strolls through the backdoor. Why not lock the backdoor, and call it a day? Ban hacks, of course, but find the source. Even if that means someone trying to automate gets a popup message like, "We're sorry, you are trying to do something stupid, and program needs to close." Idk..

I just hope that Sony didn't just shoot themselves in the foot by allowing the use of externals now. If they did, I won't be buying a ps5 due to their failure of the 4th.

Alternative fact: They aren't player created bots. They are dev created to test performance of groups with pets over long periods of time. They need to do it on live servers to get accurate results. They wont admit it because it takes away from our overall gaming experience. So they will run them till the test is over than give themselves new @ names instead of letting us know the truth.

I'm not sure how it's done exactly but it is possible.

There were about 12 at vulkhel guard where it was obvious these characters were continually auto heavy and light attacking, I personally sat there for 30 minutes observing and it was zero change the characters didn't move it was just a loop of light and heavy attacks for all of them for level 30's and below.

If it was at the dolmens those are just rubber banders. I didn't buy into the whole console bots thing until my friend sent me video from his phone, showing 2 groups of 3 doing it on PS4. All were crouched while waiting, all had same rotations and timing, and the groups took turns running the route. I haven't personally seen any that I notice so blatantly though.

It could have been but the sheer coordinated number tells me it wasn't just a rubber band group for 12 different characters. And this wasn't the only dolmen either. there are multiple places where the same light attack stationary low levels are there for hours on end in multitudes.

I know that bots's have not been possible in the past for console but the way this is happening is undoubtedly bot behavior

They can stay there for as long as they want, the game isn't going to kick them if they are attacking. Am I saying they aren't bots? No I'm not. But the ones you see just standing there are probably just rubber bands so they don't get kicked. It they were bots you would think it would at least throw out dots to get more exp. Or run a script that's a bit more useful than attacking one spot on the ground.

I understand that by that definition it's the same principle. However, generally when people speak of 'bots', it means a program that is running a script to do whatever it is they want it to do. Standing still and holding down one button doesn't require a script.

On Xbox I have seen the Dolmen rubber banners, sometimes 50 spread around the same Dolmen, all up on rocks and aiming at various locations throughout although usually in the final boss spawn point or the front portion where the cultists spawn.

Always in the same locations, very easy to identify as a bottom. All it would take is one GM checking each Dolmen with rocks around it. Would probably catch 250+ accounts.
