Bots forever

I'm just tired of this. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so unfair, while the rest of us spend real time on leveling up, farming, making gold, etc.

What does ZOS do? Nothing! Yes, NOTHING!

I laugh at that "Please report through the reporting tool"...

I did it so many times already that I have forgotten how many, and I shouldn't be spending my time reporting this! It's you ZOS that should be controlling your own game, not us doing your job.

Every zone I visit has bots, every and each of them, constantly; monthly, weekly, daily, and nothing being done about it. Just words...

So frustrated I am!!! But who cares how I feel about bots, right?

Thank you ZOS for your fantastic job on this matter.

    Yup. BS is BS.

Definitely don't need in-game GMs floating around from time to time...

I've reported and received the canned responses, but the bots remain. I don't bother anymore. If ZOS doesn't care about the integrity of their product, why should I.

That's why I say ZOS does nothing about it, at least they are not putting enough effort on this issue.

How long it should take to ban an account? 5 minutes? 10? 1 day? 2 days? Not a month for sure.

They come back they say. Really? With same user IDs? Yeah!

Pffft. I reported those same bots 3 weeks ago. Maybe it's different accounts now but it's still the same "bot" in the same area.

I'm not doubting the bots in this thread but I know a fella in game who, honest to God, does nothing but literally spend 99% of his time farming mats in the same zone on roughly the same path. Every now and then he will hop in to finish a dungeon but thats about it. He donates a lot to guilds he is in but that is what he enjoys in game.

I don't get your point. He's obvioulsy not a bot then, as 99% of the other players in this game. We're talking about bots here. :/

Alternative fact: They aren't player created bots. They are dev created to test performance of groups with pets over long periods of time. They need to do it on live servers to get accurate results. They wont admit it because it takes away from our overall gaming experience. So they will run them till the test is over than give themselves new @ names instead of letting us know the truth.

It's one big damn conspiracy and everyone's in on it! Including her...

I'm not sure how it's done exactly but it is possible.

There were about 12 at vulkhel guard where it was obvious these characters were continually auto heavy and light attacking, I personally sat there for 30 minutes observing and it was zero change the characters didn't move it was just a loop of light and heavy attacks for all of them for level 30's and below.

If it was at the dolmens those are just rubber banders. I didn't buy into the whole console bots thing until my friend sent me video from his phone, showing 2 groups of 3 doing it on PS4. All were crouched while waiting, all had same rotations and timing, and the groups took turns running the route. I haven't personally seen any that I notice so blatantly though.

I remember back in Swg all the bots were named like Azdcadfsasdf123123

I hate BOTS as much as anyone here. I also hate the other forms of cheating, whether it be the use exploits or CE. In fact, i no longer go to Cryodiil because of it. I report BOTs whenever I come across them in the manner requested by ZOS and yet no evidence of correction is visible.

The only explanation i can arrive at is that ZOS (as a business) sees a poor return on the time it has to invest to police these problems. For example: A player named X is reported for BOT'ing. ZOS then has to investigate the report and if deemed valid censure the player - either by warning or banning. Then what? The player simply creates one or more new accounts and continues. (This is one of the unintended drawbacks of F2P. There is no financial consequence to losing an account. ) ZOS spends time/money investigating and banning players, yet there is no net gain for the effort.

The games integrity continues to be tarnished, but until it starts affecting revenues there is little business reason for ZOS to address it on the necessary scale. It is far cheaper to let us rant and vent in these forums.

It could have been but the sheer coordinated number tells me it wasn't just a rubber band group for 12 different characters. And this wasn't the only dolmen either. there are multiple places where the same light attack stationary low levels are there for hours on end in multitudes.

I know that bots's have not been possible in the past for console but the way this is happening is undoubtedly bot behavior

I don't believe in witch hunts. It leads to people with legit gaming practices being accidentally banned. The dolmen bots were greatly reduced on PC-NA. I believe there were GMs spotted in game as well in connection with this.

There need to be harsher penalties on repeat offenders. I know people who have been banned for rubber banding at a dolmen and they got just a 3 day ban. Penalties need to be harsher.

While you can be banned for that it is not botting. A bot would be a program that automates the toon. People don't consider rubber bands as bots. But just because they aren't using third party software doesn't mean they won't be banned. Zos has already stated that it is a bannable offense.

If anyone does have video evidence of a real bot on console I would really like to see it.

I get more frustrated when I am trying to complete a quest and people are farming the boss I need to kill. I had this yesterday trying to complete a quest in Craglorn. Seriously, if you're going to farm for gold just steal from safeboxes and NPCs.

I tried to do another quest and people were doing it again. I do not think these are bots because they are using the text chat to sell or tell people NOT to kill something. I couldn't even do the World Boss during the Hew's Bane anniversary because too many farming for motifs.
