    Talons, fear and restraining prison are a vital part of PvP, sadly it's a case of l2p and counter it. There are a few ways to do that but I'll leave that to you to find out.

    I love seeing posts like this ! so what you want is to be totally irrelevant we don't do much dmg in comparison to our other mage classes our cc's are the only thing that helps us 1vx !! mage dks are not made to do huge dmg but are made to wear down the zerg or x amount of players..

    But I will admit everyone seems to have enrolled a mage DK but if you know how to counter them you'll be fine :)

    So many helpful people in this post lol! As a magic user our only option is being a vampire and using mist form. No we cant dodge roll every 2 seconds and shuffle/retreating maneuvers is too expensive for a magic user to use in combat repeatedly. It's not bad if I'm only fighting 1-2 people but when fighting a larger group it just becomes a perma root situation.

    Shouldn't have to use up a skill spot just to counter another skill which clearly needs to have a cooldown, increased cost for repeated use, or preferably a root immunity. Oh well at least they fixed blazing spear, that random stun 3 seconds after the spear lands was just too OP!

    If ur magika ur ranged, stay back. Problem solved. If you are taloned, go offensive. If you are fossilized use your 2 roll dodges to roll away and stun the opponent.

    This only really gets me when theres 3 or more people spamming together and im trying to vapture a flag in imperial city.

    Ah you are gonna love Warden tanks in PvP then. Ice Shards has a morph that makes it basically an Ground Based AoE DoT form of Choking Talons. It roots and since its cold damage can proc Minor Maim via the new form of Chilled, and its damage is based of the Wardens HP.

    Any cc in pvp is instant zerg death, I've killed more with my 3 sec vampire stun from draining than any other skill.

    Usually by that point you are surrounded and healing won't help. Pretty sure you can't cast cleanse while stunned, am I wrong?

    Lmao you don't play magdk than if you think that's true.Magcan deal a crap ton of damage and has the best magic class ultimate in the game.

    Root spam is BS an only zergly bads will defend it.The counters cost more than the root they need to add a soft CC immunity. You shouldn't be able to spam roots over and over again.

    It's the shortest range root in the game though!! Why is DK root a problem but not the others!? Shuffle grants immunity and purges it, retreating manuver grants immunity and purges it, purge purges it, must form grants immunity and purges it!? You want a passive immunity too!?

    Immovability doesn't prevent roots. Also, it's not the case that mDKs must root you or die.
    The generally amicable yet sporadically salty magplar that may or may not have 1vXed you in Sotha Sil. Who knows?

    Not against zergs with Templar healers wearing reactive. You're also assuming there's only one DK spamming roots.

    The only DK able to spam roots is a magicka DK, and this is balanced by his own vulnerability to being constantly rooted.

    If you want to complain about perma root, complain about rearming trap. The builds able to spam this (any stam build) is at the same time virtually immune to rooting (they dodge roll around all the time, roots or not, so they mostly don't even notice they've been rooted)

    My current strategy is die, then when they are teabagging me my guildies rush in and wipe em out. That or spam Breath of Life until the cavalry arrive.

    The problem is not abilities it's timers ... but I do love the mindless 1 button skill spammers that run in groups of 24 talk about learn to play .... mean while I have fought mud crabs that harder to kill then these players....

    I get mad when I'm in talons and dodge roll. Before I even finished the dodge roll animation I'm back in talons. My character doesn't actually roll out of the first set. I don't care either way. It that *** is annoying. My head touches the ground mid dodge then my character is immediately on his feet in the next talons. I at least want to be able to dodge out of one set before the next set.

    A root immunity is needed. No one can sustain leaving roots more than ~6 times on a stam build that isn't fully based around dodge rolling, shuffle doesn't reliably work and only works for medium armor builds ( I feel dirty helping heavy armor)
    Shuffle costs ~ 3k stam with 100 points into warlord and 7/7 medium, you'll have about 33k stam. You won't encounter an enemy with full stamina though so let's assume we have 27k stam left.
    Now we start the fight first thing that hits us: fossilize say goodbye to 7k stam because of break free and dodge roll, we cast vigor to heal ourselves, regen gives us vigor cost back. 2 second into the fight and we are at 20k max stam and our next dodge roll in the following 4 seconds will cost ~4k stam, we better use shuffle again so we can escape the talons for short period of time -3k stam. Let's pressure him we lose about 1k stam after regen gives us stam back. Now we are at 16k stamina after 5 seconds in fight. We need to dodge roll to get some heals with vigor as the damage is getting too much. Goodbye 2k stam and hello cost penalty some attacks and cast shuffle again, 4k stam gone in the next 3 seconds and we sit at 10k stam after 8 seconds of fight against a dk because we have to used so much stamina because of the missing root immunity.

    I know this isn't the perfect scenario but in a real fight you will dodge roll too often or buff a skill twice because of lag so the resource drain is realistic.

    TL:DR we need root immunity
