Intermittent crashing when opening/closing the map

It's driving me crazy and not wanting to play. When I try to open or close the main map oin game - *CRASH* - anyone else had this happen?

Does this crash only happen when you open your map or does it also happen in other portions of game play?

I've noticed it's mostly when the map, inventory or other pop up displays are open. Then the screen freezes (crash) - I tab out and when I go to open the game = black screen then I get a black screen and crash error report. I can play for a good period of time but it's guaranteed to happen at some point. It happens in both normal campaign and also Cyrodiil. Finally, it has only been happening since one of the Homestead patches.

So - this is still happening. I'm trying to complete City of Ash 1. Everything is fine until the final boss, then I have the problems this guy is experiencing in this thread: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/331258/screen-freeze-a-bug#latest

The screen freezes but I can still hear the game playing (fighting and also able to do actions but all hidden behind the frozen screen). So i have to 'windows' out, click on ESO on the task bar - the screen then goes black andcrashes giving the standard crash report window.
I took some measures including the ones you suggest in the link above and they have helped. But this cit of ash one is REALLY annoying.

Finally - in the following, you say to copy and paste OVER the current ones - do I delete all the existing settings in that folder and paste in the ones you have provided OR do I swap each setting individually with the ones you provide (that will be a pain in the a55 lol).

Another solution for Windows users is to add the game to high priority:
1.Open the Task Manager while the game is running and locate the process running named "Eso.exe".
2.Perform a right-click on that process and set priority to "High" (please note that changing this while having other programs running might cause them to perform slower).
3.Lastly, check if the graphic card drivers are updated to their latest version.
