Altmer: horses

Argonian: Guar

Bosmer: Senche

Dunmer: Guar

Khajiit: Senche

Nord: Horses or wolfes (or the sabre cat if you have it)

Orc: Bears or wolfes

Redguard: Camel

this is how feel they fit best using the current available mounts.

I only have 4 characters so far, but here's what they ride:

Altmer: Elk

Khajiit: Senche (Lion)

Argonian: Guar

Orc: Wolf

I know its not tes lore but I do fancy the elk for my altmer. Would be awesome if altmer rode giant hippogriffs or Pegasus of a sort. Something winged or birdesque

Nords - with well developed magickal abilities - summon a pre-Crown Crate Frost Mare as their mythical charge.

The mare is, in fact, a Unicorn in dsguise. It is magicka that renders the Unicorn's horn invisible to the naked eye.

A real Argonian rides a kagouti.

For me some of it is headcanon and completely baseless when it comes to the lore. But here goes.

Altmer - Horses. I figure it was Altmer/Aylieds that introduced Humans to Horses as mounts from the time that Elves ruled Tamriel and enslaved humans.

Khajiit - Obviously Senches.

Orsimer - Bears and Wolves. I disagree with the notion that Nords or Imperials turned direwolves into mounts. Not that I couldnt see them using them as companions and pets. Maybe Im a little too influenced by other fantasy settings like Tolkien and WoW. But to me Wolves seem to suit Orcs more than humans.

Argonians - Guar. which seems to be well suited for swampy environments. The animal is a bit dopey to me and seems to fit the Argonians quite well.

Dunmer - Guar and Kagouti. I figure the guar was something they adapted from enslaving Argonians but my headcanon is that Kagouti are used by Slavers as a means of intimidation and brutality when they go into Argonian villages. The Kagouti are much more aggressive and suit the purpose of causing havoc as mounts. And since they are also well adapted to swampy areas. They are the perfect mount for a Dunmer Slaver.

Bosmer - I can see Bosmer using Senches. Theres quite a large wild senche lion/leopard population in Valenwood and with the constant contact with Elyswyr I can see Bosmer finding a way to connect with Senches. I also like the Elk as a Bosmer mount. Not so much because of The Hobbit but because Bosmer are supposed to be in touch with nature and Elks/Deer are very much a symbol of that. Theyre some of the very first animals that people think of when they think of woods/forests.

Redguards - Chargers and Camels. The desert isnt always the best place for horses. But I can see them being used widely in warfare though Camels would not be unheard of. But Camels would be a much more common sight in caravans and general use by the Redguard population because of the animals adaptation to desert environments.

As for the list. I belive this is would be the most lore friendly one:

Argonian: Guar
Khajiit: Sench
Bosmer: Horse
Altmer: Horse
Dunmer: Horse, Guar and Kagouti
Nord: Horse and Elk (though the Masked Bear has been described as a popular mount between Burma and Falkreath)
Orc: Horse and Bear
Breton: Horse
Redguard: Horse and Camel
Imperial: Horse and Wolfs (Wolves are said to be a Colovian thing tough, so not all Imperials)

Horses are obviously the most common form of transportation, so unless anything else has been stated, they all would likely ride them

Am I the only one who has a problem with Khajiit riding their cousins into battle?

My Bosmer rides a wolf, and looks amazing doing it. My Breton prefers a horse.

But WOW got it from Lord of the Rings. In that book series, orcs ride giant wolves called wargs.
