Divine on one item gives you around 1% (a bit less actually, on violet quality it will be around 0.7-0.8) of crit chance (with Thief). As such, I would say the benefits of using a monster set will outweight losing a bit of a crit chance.1. When I get the Mask (in med), will it be beneficial to start using the set irrespective of trait, or would I be better of keeping NMG until I get the Velidreth in Divinity
I would stick to NMG and have 5x NMG. The set bonus of NMG is very strong, as physical penetration is probably the best bonus currently in game (this is also one of the reasons why you would always prefer to have sharpened weapons).Any suggestions for weapons (crafted or guild stores), or might I as well stick to NMG weps?

Also, since the last update we see more and more builds running 5-1-1 (5 medium, 1 heavy and 1 light), unlike previous 7-0-0. So, if you will get your monster head in heavy, do not throw it away, it might be even a better choice than medium.
And, finally, to get a monster head, you need to run vCoS and not nCoS. Monster sets only drop in veteran dungeons.
Hi,
My stamblade is currently wearing a fairly standard beginners' setup:
5 x Hundings
Helm, Shoulders and Weps - NMG
Jewelry - Robust Agility
I'm now trying to do Undaunted dailies and nCoS in order to get a Velidreth set. I already have shoulders (random trait, not divinity - I think it is impenetrable).
So, questions:
1. When I get the Mask (in med), will it be beneficial to start using the set irrespective of trait, or would I be better of keeping NMG until I get the Velidreth in Divinity
2. Any suggestions for weapons (crafted or guild stores), or might I as well stick to NMG weps? I'm trying to get VO as well, but that is a bit more difficult - Real Life RNG in finding enough free time for nSO, an evening with a stable internet connection and a group that will a noob DD is every bit as bad as ingame RNG.

I understand this is not always easy to get a group for depending on the situation and even when you do all that drops is immortal and eternal yokeda (yes i'm salty about the yokeda spam in every run i do XD)
Or 5-2 (medium-heavy) if you have no need for magicka at all ...oranje_elf wrote: »Also, since the last update we see more and more builds running 5-1-1 (5 medium, 1 heavy and 1 light), unlike previous 7-0-0. Better go for Kra'gh! Fungal I is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than vCoS... and if velidreth is really better than kra'gh is debatable and/or situational!

Mmm, I'll search for groups for both. For me the group finding has thus far been far more difficult than the dungeons themselves, and FG1 might have a great advantage to CoS in that it is not DLC.
... slot some health pieces and a taunt skill and queue as tank....
for FG I a 'faux tank' is okay.. in fact there are more DDs out there just like you. And they'd be sooo happy if more tanks queued for FG I to shorten everyone's waiting time!
Only one more hint/plea: Stand still when the boss is on you, unless you absolutely have to move (out of his AoE).
You won't take less damage when you 'retreat'/walk backwards, but you're crippling your group's dps because you pull the boss out of all the beautiful AoEs!
*g* beast trap is the lessest of skills I'm concerned about.. but I've seen a lot of destro ults, meteors, endless hails, etc. in vain, because some 'clever' tank or DD thought walking backwards saves you from a lot of damage.. in fact it only saves the boss from a lot of damageYou're preaching to the choir - for some silly reason my re-arming trap doesn't want to pick itself up its spindly little legs and walk after the boss!
no need to overdo it, you don't need anything apart from a taunt and maybe an "oh ***" button (self heal, shield, whatever). Hell, I 'tanked' that boss with a 2h (for rally) or even on my healer in my 7pc light healing gear - when we had a 'faux tank' who didn't use a taunt!I'll seriously consider the tanking FG1 idea. It will take some skill leveling and set crafting, but I might as well do that while I queue as a DD. Can always start queuing as a tank once I have the needed gear/skills in place. Sap tanking does look like a lot of fun, and I have most of the skills needed for that already leveled in any case. Its basically just the taunting that needs to be looked at...

With sharpened weps and NMG's debuf I should have quite a bit of penetration, especially with Surprise Attack's major fracture thrown into the mix. Kra'gh might just take me over the edge of what's needed, so I might then consider crafting a NMG dagger in nirnhorned just to see how the damage compares. Or an one-handed axe in nirnhorned - that should compliment Kra'gh reasonably well, I think.
