Undaunted chests are the worst part of ESO !

This whole system in place for monster sets left really sour taste in my mouth, and made me dislike ESO for the first time since I started playing. Its just too much RNG involved for shoulders, I have opened dozens and dozens of chests and didn't get a single kragh piece. Its totally unfair that somebody can open one chest and get what he/she needs and somebody can open 50 chests and not get what he/she wants.
I understand that some RNG is needed in games like this, but this is excessive, especially because its time gated RNG. There is nothing worse then that in a game, and I don't know who thought that this abortion of the system is good idea. Lets compare it to for example dungeon or trial drops, yeah they are also random, but you can trade them with your teammates, you get multiple chances of getting what you want in a single run, because each boss drops a piece. And you can run it as many times as you want in a day.
But limiting rng in a way it is done in undaunted chests, its horrible. And what is the point of it, unless ZOS wants to make unlucky players angry ? Its not like they are making any money of this system, undaunted keys are not available in crown store, you cant buy additional runs in a day, its not connected to crowns in any way ( that I know of )
I ask again, what is the point of this horrible and stupid system ?

I know plenty of people have 12.
Yeah it is a bit of a frustration but over time you'll get your sets. The problem is people go into the chests looking for one specific piece without realizing they are also getting good pieces in other sets.
There are many combinations in each chest.
I think 8 traits x 3 weights x 12 sets in each chest (besides dlc chest) = 288 different helmets in each chest.
Shoulder grind pales in comparison to weapon grind.Make PC NA raiding great again!

✭If you happen to get it in training/prosperous don't get rid. I was using a medium Veli shoulder for ages with prosperous.
The difference with divines is only small for one piece, so it's still worth using even if it's a bad trait.Xbox one EU

BeardedOrphan✭✭✭I have literally done every rng related task in this game from vet and normal trial farm to vmsa farming to farming sharpened weapons in zone drops and nothing even comes close to how much i hate farming dailies for shoulders. i do as many dailies as i can stomach every day since homestead launched and just last week i finally got my divines grothdar shoulder... the rng combined with the amount of time every day that it takes to get a limited number of keys makes the undaunted chests unbearably awful.PS4 NA

So you could open 30 chests without getting ONE shoulder in ANY trait. Then they removed training and prosperous from the table at least and was still low chanced monster shoulder with mostly well-fitted traits 
I don't think it's that bad now. I mean yeah it's bad and we need tokens imo but it's like 1000000000 times better than before. I don't even bother with traits on shoulders much. If it's right weight and not prosperous/training I'm taking it. I'll live with the ~0.02% stat loss.1 -

220 keys got me 3 kra'gh pieces. 1 heavy training, 2 light prosperous.2 -
RABIDxWOLVERINE✭✭✭✭I don't get to play much (as much as I want) and Ive done over 50 maybe 100 pledges to get keys on my 3rd ever pledge I got a light selenes divines when I wanted medium selenes in divines. I was optimistic but since then in about 100 chests I have seen only 1 other selenes piece and guess what it was light and training. Well that was before trait revamp so yeah my bad. Wasn't properous but training, sturdy(was making armor degrade slightly slower) and well-fitted(faster sprint speed) I think. Only left the relatively relevant traits, but was still rng whether or not you get a shoulder at all and then whether or not it's the set you need and then whether or not it's the trait that's useful for you. Then they revamped traits and made it 100% shoulder droprate but with good old useless traits back in the mix.0 -

This is why I saved that one Malubeth Heavy Sturdy shoulder piece I got. I don't plan on using tank stuff, but if the trait makes sense with the gear type, then I pocket it away for latter.
Another example is Slimecraw. I got a divines, light shoulder pieces near Christmas. Did not have any plans to use it, then a few months ago, Golden vendor in Cyrodiil shows up with the helm. Now I run it on a MagDK.0 -

It all depends on your luck with RNG and I have *** luck. I gave up on the item I wanted after trying for a month. Over 300 keys and still can't get it.0 -
parkham✭✭✭I've just started doing daily undaunted quests, I can usually do one a day, maybe two. More on the weekend. I think it would take ages to get what I'm looking for specifically. I'm keeping everything I find, but that leads to having to buy more bank space or turn my empty character slots into mules - or both.
I'm pretty sure that they won't change the sets from Bind on pickup to Bind on equip will they.. it would be great if you could trade some of the stuff you find.

Use it with your undaunted mettle. At undaunted 9 having 1 of each weight gives you 6% to all resources. I always use the various weights from monster sets as filler for my undaunted mettle. Since they are the only dropped sets that come in multiple weights they work prefect for that. So if I get good trait wrong weight I'm fine.
I did grind illambris like crazy until I finally just changed my build and 2 days after golding a new 5 piece set I get a light divines illambris shoulder.
The current chest system is tons better that what we once had. We had 3 different key types and the only way to obtain a gold key was vet hm. Pretty much nobody ran the daily on normal since a bronze key almost never gave a shoulder. They increased the drop chance over time before eventually turning all keys into 1 type. Those who experienced the chest system before know what we have is already so0
