RANT about v2.7.10

So we've been submitting bug reports for months. Trials are still buggy. Group Finder is still broken beyond belief. Heck my character is still running around with half-of her body underground.
Monster shoulders are still >1% chance RNG. Dungeon drops is still higher in-slot than 9 trait crafting that takes years to be able to make.
But "This patch largely contains a number of fixes for unreleased and future content that is not yet available, including things for future in-game holidays and events, so don’t worry! You’ll see it one day. We are still working on fixes for a number of reported issues including those with the Grouping Tool, issues surrounding Bolt Escape, and more."

2 seasons of crown crates. Homestead houses that cost more than Mass Effect Andromeda. 39.99 EUR for Morrowind which should have been accessible to subscribers.
But "and we've added a section for third party marketing"?

Am I being unreasonable or is this actually okay?
Dragonborn, huh? Was it your ma or your pa that was the dragon?

Why does a game that got MMO of the year need to stay alive ? That sounds like a load .

Don't know about you but I'm investing time and money into a game I want to help grow and be part of. Why should I keep my subscription if they're going to spam me with advertising and ignore all my /bug requests /complaints?

    Third Party Advertising

We partner with a third party ad network to either display advertising on our website or to manage our advertising on other websites. Our ad network partners use cookies, web beacons and other tools to collect information about your activities on this and other websites, as well as your IP address and location information, to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests and to evaluate the success of their advertising.

You may opt-out of receiving targeted ads from many third-party ad networks, including those operated by members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") and the Digital Advertising Alliance ("DAA"). For more information regarding this practice by NAI members and DAA members, and your choices regarding having this information used by participating companies, including how to opt-out of third-party ad networks operated by NAI and DAA members, please visit their respective websites: www.networkadvertising.org/optout_nonppii.asp (NAI) and www.aboutads.info/choices (DAA). If you are in the European Union, go to www.youronlinechoices.eu for information about your choices with respect to third party advertising, including instructions on how to opt out of participating ad networks. Please note that opting out of participating ad networks does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to receive generic or "contextual" ads. You may also continue to receive targeted ads on other websites, from companies that do not participate in the above programs.

On some of our websites, we may allow third-parties to serve ads. When you view or click on an ad a cookie will be set to help better provide advertisements that may be of interest to you on this and other websites. I read the "3rd party" stuff in the new text.
It's about letting us sign in with our IDs from other services such as Facebook.
As long as we don't use any automated sign ins via such services, and login only to ESO via ZOS, we should be fine.

That being said, it means that there's an agreement between ZOS and Facebook, that alone I dislike. From now on, I'll consider all my ESO data to be public (and sold) and I will manage it accordingly.

ZOS, you're behaving more and more like some crappy F2P mobile app.

@anitajoneb17_ESO I work in advertising. Third party marketing means they'll be collecting our personal data, including what we do on other websites, and IP address and other data they can get their hands on to do direct marketing. Wether it's from ZOS or their partners.

Even if we don't sign in via third parties logins ?
I mean, if my ESO ID is AAAA and my Twitter ID is BBBB and I don't even have a Facebook account, ZOS can manage to link my ESO identity to my Twitter identity, relate it to my real-life and billing information stored at ZOS, and sell the entire package to Facebook ?

Event will be Jesters Festival most likely.

As for advertising I doubt this has anything to do with ESO specifically. They're just going to use cookies and try and get targetted adds up on other sites, I doubt they need add revenue in the game or on the ESO site and they would only harm their game if they did.

    They're not THAT stupid.

@anitajoneb17_ESO we direct marketers love using social media as a source of personal data. FB knows everything about you. Everything, I'm not kidding. What you're interests are. Do you drink/party. Do you like movies more than books. Where you live. Activities you love doing. What your friends are into. What you do with your friends. How far they can push you into engaging with advertising before you close everything. I can go on all day. This information is valuable, but also so easy to get as everyone pretty much gives it away.

Now ESO will be running the same show. I'm probably being hypocritical, but I'm pretty disappointed. Instead of fixing the issues we've been having for months, and contributing to the community's overall satisfaction. They're chasing money.
