The theoretical max DPS with easy to buy / craft gear (Willpower, Julianos, Martial Knowledge) is ~36k, the absolute BiS theoretical max (Ilambris, Moondancer, BSW) is ~42k.

So BiS will net you about 15% more DPS. Nothing to sneeze at to be sure, but if (like me) you are only pulling low 20s, suddenly getting a set of gold BiS gear isn't going to make you a killing machine.

Are those figures against the skeleton solo? Cause in a group setting the ceiling is still much higher than 42K.

BiS isn't that important when you're still hitting low 20s on the skeleton. In the current state of the game rotation and execution of your rotation is 90% of good DPS. You can take a player that has a really good rotation with entirely crafted gear and no cp and put them up against a player with poor rotation wearing BiS will full CP and the player with the good rotation execution will out DPS the other guy.

Get good at your rotations guys and you'll have no issues finding a guild to raid with. (With good rotation execution) For Magicka toons 3 - 4 hours of farming CoA 1 on normal mode will give you the gear to get the numbers and for stamina toons (wait, nobody raids with stamina anymore....)

Our guild does all vet content and I ask for a 25k min.

You have to keep in mind.

25k dps self buffed + combat pray + SPC + Alkosh + Debuffs + War Horn you're easily pulling 35k+

Which is 100% acceptable for all content.

If you do 25k it's fine, anything higher is fantastic. IMO.
