✭✭✭✭✭I suspect a lot of people would like to be about to buy only the parts of the expansion they're interested in. I'd like the opposite of the OP - everything except battlegrounds because I'll probably never use them.
But that means less money for ZOS and having to make future updates compatible for people who may or may not have all the previous stuff. And what your saying is exactly the reason you must pay for the entire expansion. Those that PvP and only PvP have no reason to purchase DLCs or sub, though I expect some do. Lower revenues source overall.
I think Zos messsed up. Some aspect of BG should have a perk in ESO+. Maybe faster queue times.

I love how people always say this as if obviously buying a video game should be your top priority and the only reason you couldn't afford it (or wouldn't want to spend the money) is if you literally cannot afford that much.
Since Morrowind was announced I've gone from "Cool, I'll get that soon" to "Oh, we're definitely going on holiday, I'll book that this month and get Morrowind next month" to "Oh damn, the graphics card is definitely dead I'll get a new one and get Morrowind next month" to "Wow, there's a lot of birthdays in my family in March, and several big ones this year, I'll get Morrowind next month" to "Wait, it's my birthday coming up, I'll get it as a birthday present instead". But that could easily change as well.
I mean I could actually afford it at any time, so the worst case scenario is I buy it a couple of days before it's released. But more people playing the battlegrounds means shorter queues and more people trying it means the change of someone getting hooked is bigger.0 -
