Burning Spellweave looks terrible. So that means costume.

Most robes in this game do look really clunky though. I usually go with jerkins.

Endgame most of my gear is dropped, so whichever I get in the trait I want, unfortunately.

If I have a choice, though, it depends on the style! Some, like Trinimac style, look very ornate and I feel the robe is necessary to show that. Others the Jenkins looks better. If the pants are ugly the robe is always preferred.

Then of course, purpose. If it's light armor for PvP and I don't want to wear a costume the jerkin is the preference because there is no need to advertise that my character is in light.
(Although with heavy armor, adding the Daedric skirt or Mercenary kilt is fun. I wish the Trinimac wings were still connected to the shoulder piece. ;))
Why be normal when you can be better?

I normally wear costumes, but then the Dark Shaman dropped and it's pretty much what all my male toons wear now. ;)

I try to go jerkin where possible because I hate the physics of the robe while sitting on a mount. It just doesnt work like that!

Robe. Definitely robe. As a mage, I can't see myself wearing anything else.

I usually prefer robes especially for Sorcerers but in this game they are very ugly so I always go for Jerkin, well costumes because transmog isn't a thing in this game.

Depends on the character and the style. My sorcerer usually wears a robe because that seems to suit him best but my magicka templar (soon to be warden) usually wears a jerkin because it suits her better.

problem with jerkins is that pants look ugly.Plus the legs also look funny on characters too. I have yet to see a good pair of pants and legs in an MMO,

One option is the daeric skirt bottom, as far as I know its the only skirt

Bonus as it can be combined with heavy or medium top
Is it other styles who have skirts?

I dont know the style but "of the air" has skirt

Jerkins, cause if i want a Robe-ish look, i equip a legs that is a skirt. I hate the fact most Robes go all the way to the ground.

Have u you ever seen a robe in real life that didnt go to the ground lol?

    That would be pretty awkward

I prefer robes, personally. However, with costumes I never see my armor anyway.
