I heard one "myth" that I personally believe to be true.

If you are on PC NA or EU and eventually do get a legendary equipment master writ, mail it to @runswithbullcrit and the amount of master writs you receive from there on out will increase. So if you really want a bunch of them mail them all to that person for a few weeks.

I have resigned myself to not being able to get involved with the crafting aspects of homestead. Triple RNG, low mat drop rates, too many people farming mats due to their rarity, too low drop rate on master writs, waste of gold materials.... conclusion - not worth it!. The prices for crafting stations and dummies are coming down. I'll just wait until they reach the 50k mark and just buy what I need. I will revisit homestead crafting in a few months and see of anything has changed but as long as it's very much RNG dependant, forget it, it's not worth the aggro imo.
RNGesus has never been fair to me in this game so I just snub any content that worships at that alter! I gave it 4 weeks and got only 2 master writs with my main crafter while I listened to guild mates with way less crafting achievements talk about getting 'so many writs'. If I continued participating with this element of the game it would have made me give up the game entirely out of frustration.
I know plenty will disagree with me and see no problem cos RNGesus loves them and writs, designs and mats are raining down on them... but that don't change my experience one bit!

You do the regular max level crafting writs and then you have a chance to get a master writ in the reward box.

Since HS, got about 10 writs, the highest voucher write gave me 10, the rest all between 2-8
Should create a legendary glyph for 4 voucher ? wtf

    Groupfinder:
The worst part is when it finally puts you in a group, your healer turns into a werewolf, your tank has 14k HP and the dps is heavy armor, using a restro staff and a two handed sword on the backbar. Then comes the 15 minute penalty before the cycle starts anew.

    Rulz of Morrowind:
    • The first rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • The second rule of Morrowind is: You do not talk about Morrowind.
    • Third rule of Morrowind: Someone yells NDA stuff, uploads images, streams, the game is over.
    • Fourth rule: only invited players can test.
    • Fifth rule: one invite at a time, fellas.
    • Sixth rule: crying or bashing on pts.
    • Seventh rule: NDA will go on as long as they have to.
    • And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first invite at Morrowind, you have to play.

I am convinced that motif known and recipes known play no part, or at the very least a very insignificant part in getting master writs.

I realize zos said they increase the chance, but knowing all motifs could only increase chance by .01% and that statement would still be true.

Set Motifs learnt and research traits, despite what ZOS say is WAI, if they have any affect at all are completely swamped by the RNG. I have char that is all traits researched, all motifs fully learnt, all crafting achievements yada yada, and in 3 weeks of writ crafting as only had a few master writs.. in alchemy and enchanting.

The really BIG master writs seem, from speaking with players selling, are from players with a small number of traits and barely any motifs, but obviously high on RNG!

So if you are getting master writs in smithing, woodworking and tailoring, wel done

The earlier you do writs in the day after they become available, the higher the chance for a master writ. Thats because the mechanics allow for a set amount of masterwrits to be awarded to the game population each day. So if you do your writs when all master writs have already been awarded, your chance of getting one drops from (no clue the percentages) say 5% to 0%.

Now you know why theres always a bunch of people waiting around the writs board at that time of day.

    :D

From my personal experience of zero master writs over 3 weeks of doing writs on my 100% crafter, when, where etc is just a 'rabbits foot' believe it if it helps... RNG trumps ALL, it's the ZOS way that or sloppy coding and useless QA?

Myths or superstitions you've heard or actually believe in concerning their acquisition.

    I'll start...

    1. Don't open Vessels, Coffers, Crates, Cases, Satchels, or Packs while still in Craglorn.
    2. Don't open an Alchemy vessel first, because if you get one in there, you won't get any others that day.

I have 7 toons all maxed out and do crafting on them all I get about 5 to 8 master writs a day and I have always opened them in craglorn and I always start at the top at alchemy

I only have 1 character with all craft schools to level 50. Since I've recently returned to the game, I miss all the post-2015 craft books, recipes, styles and whatsnot.
I only craft in Craglorn, because that's where the quests tell me to deliver the stuff.

Despite all of this, I am getting master writs with no problem.
