Pretty sure I called someone "S'wit" and "N'wah" too.
Does that count?
I advocated for the genocide of khajiit and Argonians one time...said something about how the only thing they are good for is slaves. I got called a racist for that lol. (and by more than one person).
Yes, you can be a racist for oppressing completely fictional races now.

The reason I ask this is that a close friend of mine has been pvping a lot. And as a result he receives a lot of racist comments to say the least. He is not the only one, people suffer from a variety of issues. Ausburgurs syndrome. Self confidence. Interacting with others as not feeling accepted or being ridiculed due to mental state. Where certain players do not see the funny side as there health does not compute the humour eg telling a player he is not good to put politely and socialy uninteractable. But that player takes it literally that the person who made the comment that they are correct which leads them to be depressed and feel they are not socialy acceptable.

General moral damaging comments. He has logged his concerns and awaits the result if any. But what about whispers in chat how are they noted, reported
This seems to be common in pvp. Especially when a player is doing well. To give a example another friend became emp. All he got was whispers of threats and whispers of tellung him to do harm to himself
I ask is this not acceptable and what can be done eg whispers as this seems to be on the increase and has a effect on players moral and questions there whole playing of the game. These guys that receive theses comments are nice guys so why I ask
Please add comments and thoughts as I belive this is a big topic in online gaming eg tamriel one
Thank you in advance

In all honesty, ESO has a much friendlier community than any other MMO I've played.

This kind of behaviour is commonplace in online games. It's sad, but inescapable.

Ummm no. You hand them a warning, if done again, you give them the permaban! If your parents wasn't able to raise you right you have no business playing a game with thousands of other people.

So someone that eats paint chips is asking someone else how crayons taste, classic. Oh, AF here.

The difference here is that in RL you dont have the ability to click 2 buttons and the person goes mute or disappears.
Im not excusing or defending bullying Ive been bullied most of my life and it sucks.
That being said. Online you do have the ability to click 2 buttons and they disappear and cant bother you. If you're not willing to do something that simple but are going to write long dissertations on the forums crying about it you're a part of the issue at that point because Said people have accomplished what they set out to do. Get a rise out of you.
Cyber bullies can only accomplish their bullying if you allow it. the ignore feature defeats their ability to bully you and if everyone ignores them or enough people ignore them theyll leave because they are not getting that need filled. its not defending the bullies its common sense.

What? Um, the answer would, 99% of the time, be zero. What platform are you on? On PCNA, even in the worst zones, in the worst times, that is not common. I mean, I hate the zone chat on those areas because of all of the ignorant political bull****, but I'm not seeing slurs on a regular basis anywhere. And when there is they are very likely to get jumped on by a bunch of people.

Also, why should someone have to ignore it? It's against TOS - it's against just about any game's TOS. Why should the burden be on the recipient of this vitrol, rather than the bully? ZoS has the ability to do something to stop this - or at least curtail it greatly. If people realize they'll be banned for being a racist, they won't be a racist.
Sorry, but that's not true at all. Bullies don't go away and stop bullying just because people don't complain on the internet, or because they don't have "tears." Bullies just keep on bullying. They don't care.... If enough people stopped coming to the internet to cry about the mean things they hear and just ignored the offender, the world would be in much better shape and with fewer "bullies". With no one to hear or care there will be not much point trying to spew hatred, trust me. Snowflakes keep feeding the trolls with tears though, so we have this.

Bullies are mentally weak persons, they will bully only people that seem weak, so part of the fault is on you, iv'e been bullied sometimes when i was younger, as i grew stronger both physically and mentally guess what, no more bullies.
Want to know a sure fire way to resolve the issue? Place the person on your ignore list and you will no longer hear from this person. Heck it will be like they aren't even in the game anymore.
You could always report them to zos as will as placing them on ignore list. I just find it to much of a hassle.
Honestly if someone is bothering you that much and you don't place them on ignore then it must not of really been that bothersome. And if you did place them on ignore then problem solved and I really don't see the point of the post.
We already have a perfect feature in game just for this. Why waste time doing something that can already be accomplished by each individual player.

Tall, skinny, red hair, I had the tri fecta going so got loads of it in school. I learned quick how to talk back, made them feel and look stupid. Gave one a bloody lip in the middle of class. No more bullies after that.
