Idea - Jumping - Add a small stamina cost?

    Not that it's ever be done, but think of sets/skills that effect how high you can jump, that add x axis acceleration for longer jumps, etc.

    So you're trying to bring logic into a game where performing a heavy attack restores stamina? Good luck on that lol. Btw if we're going to do that let's make it so staves can't block melee attacks since there's no way that stick wouldn't snap when I hit it with my greatsword.

    Think of heavy attacks as something that requires more force, but gives you a moments breath while readying the swing.
    Staves? Magicka infused wood, warding. (ice staff passive comes to mind)

    No, it adds very little to the game and would require rebalancing. If the cost is actually very small, it accomplishes nothing. If the cost is too large, you cripple builds just looking to avoid terrain obstacles leading to frustration. The effort to reward ratio isn't even remotely worth it.

    A small cost is the general goal, such as to require some stamina regen for continuous jumping. It isn't something that should be too heavy of a penalty for those jumping all around.

    ... I have actually. my roomies give me a lot of shite for it, but I enjoy it when I do it. Mindless work, with a steady rhythm. I have noticed that steady, strong hits using the momentum of the head is a lot less exhausting than whacking at it with abandon.

    Because this is not real life. Should your character have to sleep for a few hours just so he/she has energy to fight? Some stuff should just be left out of games. The game would feel incredibly slow if jumping or even walking cost stamina. Not a lot of people would have the patience for that.

    Yeah, this isn't real life. Which is why they are design choices. The game already does feel slower since they have a sprint function that is temporary as it costs stamina. how does jumping make the game feel faster, and why would having it cost stamina cause the game to feel slower? (I don't see many players jumping from location to location, normally they sprint)

    So, what to do about the jumping PVPers that annoy the crap out of everyone? I think that not only should you take damage while jumping, it should automatically set you off balance. Just think of the reality of that. If you got hit with a maul in the air, you wouldn't have a happy landing. A fire bolt would knock you back. Problem solved.

    Right now, in PVP, you don't take any damage in the air. So a bunch of guys just constantly jump to mitagate damage.

    Why bother? The other stuff is balanced for combat. Blocking, dodging, sprinting out of telegraphs.

    What does jumping do in combat, other than lower dps and prevent any other action during the animation?

    Seems pointless.

    What about stam characters? What are we supposed to do when we can't even jump without losing a 3rd of our stamina?
