The nodes arent personalised. If you leave stuff inside they WILL respawn wth new mats.

@Bombashaman @wenchmore420b14_ESO @Pumpkin_pants @Avidspark this is a myth that people keep repeating, that the devs have told us isn't true (much like the myth about getting a better chance at getting a general at a dolmen if you don't close any pinions until the end, except more believable than that one). The respawn timer begins when the person who first opens the node/chest exits the looting menu. It doesn't make any difference if the node/chest is empty or not.

The point is, if a player or more likely player(s) are out looting chests in a zone, and one or two players are leaving chests not fully looted, we are going to run into the partially looted chests before they have a chance to re-spawn with fresh loot & a pickable lock.

You'd think they would have said something before we spent three years complaining about this issue.

Sometimes it's hard to stamp out myths. People still believe the myth about dolmen pinions and the devs have verified it's not true. There have been posts from players who timed out that opened node and chest despawn even with items in them.

Personally, I get the point. You see the chest and get all excited, then find nothing but junk in it. Disappointment sets in.
If they had taken it, you would have run by withiut stopping because there would have been no chest there. No disappointment.
I have come across these, sometimes in places I did not know a chest spawns. Now I do.
Edit:nOne reason the take everything from the chest is so that the position of the chest is not advertized to those who don't know about it.
