Crown Exclusives, Who will actually buy?

Hey community this is my follow-up poll to the previous poll Who actually bought Manors. Link provided below.

https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/325356/who-actually-bought-manors-with-crown-or-gold#latest

So now that we see how the general feel for manors are, the majority of which were purchased by gold, and I strongly suspect that the exclusives will of course be more expensive than the manors, furnished or unfurnished. If you believe otherwise feel free to disagree but I have zero doubts that even unfurnished the exclusives will be at 15000 crowns or $120 USD, at the minimum. So I want to gauge how people will react to the pricing of these ingame instance purchases that will exceed all of morrowinds content.

Discuss, vote.

*EDIT*

So thus far the response feedback has been exactly as I thought it would.

Unfortunately ZoS you have hurt yourself with the current limits to housing functionality and have jacked up prices to try and turn a revenue for something that has little to no reason to buy, and even less reason to decorate with the current RNG wall/grind.

I intend to make as many people aware of these issues as long as it takes, and hope that no one actually buys these items once they realease until some changes are made to be worth the money they are asking.

Here are some suggestions that are in literally every thread, and since these ARE exclusives it would be wise to to start paying attention to your playerbase.

1. Item furnishings caps.

With the massive size those places are I expect to be able to decorate most of that space, if you don't offer much higher caps you are just plain wrong. No other way to put this.

2. Functionality.

This is a bit ambiguous I know, but everyone generally agrees there is very little incentive to actually GO to your house after getting it and putting a couple plants in place that took you a week to get and craft. So give us something more, an ACTUAL merchant, that can repair for us. A easy go to writ board, we'll still have to turn in our mats but at least have housing serve SOME function that makes it a convenience. That's what houses are. There are entire threads of ideas for additions that will flavor housing.

3. By the Eight and the Three, furnishings were something that is supposed to be FUN to do and decorate. It's not, it is such a chore and RNG grind on top of a farming RNG grind that it makes me sick to log on sometimes. I actually want to play LESS this update because of the dread I have to go about all this overly complex grindy rngy furnishings that was supposed to cool and fun in the game. Do anything to change this

Take something into consideration, my polls may not capture everyone's opinion, But everyone here had friends and that will spread. And having bad rep is just as bad as having a bad game. ESO is not a bad game at all, which is why I typed all this crap in the first place. But the current module you have is sickening. Sometimes tough love is needed to make things better. So here's hoping eso

I don't know. So far the Crown Exclusive homes doesn't interest me as much :/ If they gave us a wizards tower up in the sky I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Also I need the item cap to increase! Like asap!

With the pitiful reaction to manors I have to say that people who feel like this are actually in a large majority right now.

There just aren't enough incentives in my opinion that justifies the current pricing modules. You can only do dps test, duel or craft. All of which can already be done ingame already. It's just reiterating what already exists. Interior decorating is tedious due to the atrocious rng grind wall they build every little thing behind.

    Shameful

20,000 crowns is totally nuts. I would have instant buyer's remorse, I think. I don't judge people for how they spend their own money, but I have a personal hard limit and I think that's about where it is.

I have no interest in homes in their current state. I buy them to have them, but furnishing them is way too much work with no actually pay off.

I know you're not asking it, but if they would allow you to buy a home with gold, and furnish it with crowns, I'd do it. I'm not talking about the packs you can buy and do yourself. I'm talking about paying the difference to have it fully furnished.

The Craglorn cavern admittedly looks pretty interesting to me, from the preview, but I sincerely doubt I'd be paying that much for it, at least not without a lot of sales. Maybe over a few months. I need to eat, after all.

It seems like a ludicrous price, but we know people will fork out for it. I'm doubtful that I'd be one of them.

I agree, but I really don't see any other route they will take. The past couple months has shown how little they care for the communities input on the pricing of their current crown store sales. Then the forced RNG locking content was just another slap in the face to gamers who want to earn unique mounts and costumes. I understand needing to gain revenue but this current trend is just predatory and irrefutable greed.

Too expensive. And half the fun in getting an in-game home was earning the gold to buy it.

Agreed, there has been next to none new earn able ingame cosmetics or mounts in over a year. Having a pay wall lock more into crown store is getting frustrating

At this point an Item cap increase could do well to raise awareness of the pathetic loot system in this game, specifically weapons.....

I have no interest in large open spaces for housing. Give me a modest-sized house and a garden and I'm a happy camper. I previewed these two spaces on the PTS and they seem more suited for a guild stronghold than a private home and my guild already has Hundings for that.

What I am going to buy is a couple of the furniture packs they're releasing along with the cavern. My patio at Sleek Creek has a fire pit, a chair, and some snakes on a rope...definitely need more kitchen/dining stuff! lol

Haven't bought a crown exclusive in ages. Theyre overpriced and I can live without them. The overpriced Elk changed my attitude towards the crown store completely. It was the first time I wanted something but couldn't justify paying out that much money for it. It's looked awesome but I didn't fall for it ZOS hah.

I was soooo dreaming of getting the Topal Island since the day the first announced it!

But now that housing has been out and I've played around with the various homes and seen their costs, I've settled on Hunding's and have found it to be more than enough for me! It has the beach and a decently high ceiling, with minimal internal invisiwalls to boot! (Although I do wish the slaughterfish were even further out so I could make more use of the ocean and/or enjoy the little island :disappointed: , I'll make do!)

At the prices the exclusives will be sold for, the limited functionality and only a minimal increase in furniture allotment, I wouldn't be able to stomach the cost of buying one at their asking prices. Even unfurnished!

It's just too much cost pack onto cost! Way too expensive to buy and way more expensive to furnish.

I'm all set for housing (and the LOOOOONG game of furnishing it) for now! Will maybe start saving up my ESO+ crowns for whatever housing options come with the MW chapter! A big maybe and bigger we'll see.

But currently, there is no desire to ever buy another house. Hunding's and my three little storage units are working out just fine for the time being!

I confess- months ago I downloaded the pts just because I was so excited about topal island. Even with the lack of housing functionality I might have bought it if it were reasonably priced, but it's not likely to be, so I've lost all interest in homestead. Maybe if the homes go on sale next year (for the homestead anniversary event) and I have a stack of cheap ctowns, otherwise it isn't worth it to me.

    2 facts about topal island
    1) you can still preview it on the pc (just switch to game pad mode)
    2) It is too big to decorate while the current item caps are in place.

I thought this was a really insightful comment, becaude it sums up what has been said in many threads since elk gate, and shows that the bad taste of unpalatable pricing lasts much longer than the items are on sale. I believe the excessive pricing of housing will turn some people off the game (I certainly play less), but I know some people are happy with the update too.

I am not buying anything that cost more than 3k crowns unless it is a DLC pack(gold edition style).

At least not without a huge crown sale.

Decorating is too much of a pain to get a huge house anyway.. Maybe I'm the only one but I really just want a sims-like grid to place things in cause its annoying to allign everything well and not have it inside the walls or slightly floating..

If it's something I really want I will buy regardless of price.

This is my main way to relax in the evenings after works and if I wasn't wasting my money on this I would just be buying more Lego or RP books I never finish reading.

That said it doesn't mean I won't let ZOS know when they overstep the mark with their pricing or crown store items.

I felt the same way about the dro m'athra mount. Actually kind of wanted it and though well maybe I'll buy it. Then it was like 5000 crowns so that was a big nope, 2000 i might've paid for that..
And the same will likely happen to the upcoming sabre mount, kinda want it, probably will be overpriced.

I wouldn't even decorate the cave or the island that much. They look really awesome as is in their natural environment, and I'd probably just take the stuff from my current home and transfer it all there. I wouldn't want to ruin the ambience either of them have by furnishing too much.

ZOS screwed up by not releasing these with the other houses.

If someone just spent 13k crowns on a manor, they aren't going to spend another 15-20k crowns on one of these.

Funny, but I had the EXACT same reaction. Loved the Topal on PTS, but then when Homestead went Live and I started exploring all the other housing options and discovered Hunding's, it was more than enough for me... I also bought the Forsaken Stronghold as well... both with Crowns. Now, I no longer have an interest in Topal... so ZOS lost a sale on that since they didn't release these Crown Store exclusives when Homestead went Live. If it had, I would have bought Topal... but being left with so much time on my hands and wanting to explore housing, I found Hunding's instead.

I won't buy any, no matter the price. I bought Mathiisen Manor with gold and I rarely visit this one since houses have no functionality except for skeletons. Even crafting stations are useless since we have all of them in the cities where are also vendors who can repair stuff and bankers who give access to guild banks/stores. So after e.g. doing dungeons, why should I visit my house if it gives me only 50% of what I can do in every city with regard to "clearing inventory". The same problem is with crafting writs - we have to leave the house to pick up the quests and then complete them. And as for furnishing/decorating: all these items are so expensive (at vendors/guild stores) that it is a waste of gold to spend it on such useless stuff. And I loot every single container since homestead and haven't got any purple furniture plan so far. So, well... housing is nothing but a huge disappointment for me. I think that the crown crates are even better investment than this.

Real money for an in-game house with no functionality besides skeleton and crafting stations? With no access to guild stores or armor repair? No thank you Sir. ;)

A few people in my main guild have houses with skeletons, that's all I need.

Exactly, if a house could at least offer similar functions to a city then they would start to be worth it more. But as is with current limits and little reason to homes the pricings are ludicrous
