When WoW first released I saw GMs often, but over the years they became more and more scarce. Less visibility and community interaction from GMs may be the norm for MMOs these days.

I dont get it ... how do they Bot on a console ..? if holding down there trigger with a elastic band is called botting i have to lol. with them in the room or away thats not botting

Whispers probably disabled with them unless they give you access to whisper them like in other games.

Legends tell of a time where mindless minions would walk the world, swarming, spamming and consuming all. A few brave souls would try to rise up against these minions, but ultimately would fail. Short term victories and appeals to a higher power were, in the end, fruitless.

The only beings able to stop these mindless creatures were the gamemasters, but they had all but disappeared at the beginning of the planemeld. However, it was foretold the gamemasters would return, smiting the mindless abominations and restoring balance.

Could this time be upon us? Have the gamemasters heard our prayers and returned to rid the world of this menace?
Time will tell, but for now, we can hope.

Been playing since launch of game on consoles and I have yet seen a GM or seen one say something in chat. They might only appear when need to in response to a ticket a player sent.

Lol I wouldn't want to duel him myself. Might be all buffed up to solo Vet maw, good luck on dueling him. lol

I wonder if he was thinking: damn this lag freaking blows.

I've seen a gm one other time, back when people were farming pigs for mats. He told everyone to leave and the whole group ran like hell. That was of course back when we thought zeni banned people.

We had a gm once back in 2014, joining us in a dungeon that bugged. He resettet it, just to one hit the boss. Never would want to duell a GM. Even joined us in TS.
Those where some awesome days back then.

Rubber bands are probably grouped in with bots for simplicity.

Oh and by the way. I'm fairly certain that using a rubber band is against the ToS, and now the GM is hunting you, and your doom is sealed.

I'm glad for the attention to the game but what would they be there for? Other than maybe to run a performance check.

There is no real assigned GM role in this game. I just do not think GM's are what most people think they are for. I imagine people want someone to beech and moan to. Or ask a question like, "where is my free mount I can't find it," or "what's the best build for a Bosmer bla bla bla?" I would be afraid to show my GM awesomey self if it was me GM'ing. Who wants to change mmo baby diapers? Other players will be thinking, "Yes, the GM destroyer gods have finally descended in answer to my forum prayers! Go forth and annihilate those bot dolmen afk'ers and anyone else who annoys my most grumpy-control-issueyness!"

Love seeing a GM. I remembered seeing 2 of them booting bots out 1 or 2 months in after launch in Riften.

Back at PC launch, I spotted GM's almost daily doing their bot cleansing rituals, but that wasn't for very long and ever since then - haven't seen one at all. Could GM's be Dwemer? Maybe they just "poofed" with no trace? One will never know.

We should capture it so it can live its life in captivity while we try to breed it with its lesser cousin, customer support agents. Perhaps, if we are successful, we can restore their population and release them back into the wild.

I saw a couple on PC back in the day checking bot spawns, never since.

I always wondered if the ZOS lay-off that happened effected their GM staff.

You've obviously never asked for a budget increase. If something doesn't clearly contribute to the bottom line, you aren't getting money for it. If you asked for money to hire a team of full-time gamemasters, 95% of executives would tell you that the player base can police themselves via the report function and that gamemasters aren't needed.

It would be awesome if we had active gamemasters, but it's a pipe dream.

GMs on PC can go invisible so it's likely they scope out botting spots and just ban people, there's no reason for them to be on in force anymore. Game's been out long enough for people to look up guides and ask other players for help, GMs serve no real purpose after the first couple of months, they ban bots and get off. No more bots, no more GMs. Anything else is done through CS.

I remember once upon a time when, of you had a problem in game, you could ask for help in zone chat and a lurking gamemaster would chime in to help you. I miss those days. (In MMOs years before ESO came out. Gamemasters are a nice thing to have. Why can't we have nice things?)
