Resurrecting others - why should we?

Honestly, on console, I wish it was easier to target dead bodies for ress'es. Nothing frustrates me more then spending 5 minutes moving my dude around trying to get the body in my crosshairs for a res.

I am OK with the AP for getting a res off. But it would not need to be increased by much imo.

I rez everyone I can unless they are dead in or next to a keep that is not under attack.

Even if keep/outpost is unlit, the unpredictable load times may make rez worthwhile for the recipient. Gems are cheap...long load screens suck.

I even rez level 13 recruits.

I also feel a little guilty attacking low ranked players trying to help and battlerez people on the front lines.

Pretty much I'm a softie

People run out of soul gems?

Take a five minute break to run a delve/dolmen or something. You don't even need to leave Cyrodiil to get soul gems for free. If you are really hard-up, grab some off an alliance vendor.

Or hell, you can buy them for dirt-cheap off of guild traders.

I had someone stand over me, not rezzing me, simply because I declined a pug invite earlier. This community is full of petulant little children.

I rezz everyone in my faction because it's the right way to act.

That would be my reason to Rez as well. In the end, I would like to be revived at an important battle avoiding the horse run so I extend the same to players. It helps I'm a Templar, so that Rez is fast and the players appreciate the full health bar.

If players need a better reason, just remember it could decide the win of a keep just by rezzing that random player. And it should promote healthy faction identity by supporting a "always rez" policy.

Lol yea. I buy mine from AP vendors if I noticed I'm below 50 gems. If I have empty gems, and have 70 gems minimum, I usually stay at that number until I run out of empties.

    Hey there,

now that you've read the rhetoric question in the thread title, I have spent two skillpoints into the faster rezzing passive and keep scraping of the deep-fried remains of whoever didn't manage to go out of the giant sizzling oil puddle myself. But I find myself wondering why nobody else does it. After all, dead players can fight another day (or another oil tick) - right?

I figure that it is because there's no noticeable reward to it. Of course, doing it might tip the fate of battle in the direction of peoples' faction, but that's beyond the average reptile brain (which seems to be all that many people are using during battle. If you are reading this: I made this sentence so long to be able to point out to you that you're the exception. Your reptile brain would have skipped to the TL;DR already.) And not only does resurrecting others not gain me anything but 50 AP - which makes it less rewarding than repairing a keep wall-, it also eats up my soul gems, which are quite pricey on the long run. I propose to change this.

Have resurrections reward AP the same way repairing a keep wall or door does:
After all, it eats a non-self-replenishing resource just the same. 50 AP is just too little.

Have the Rewards of the Spammey send me soul gems:
If Warlord Zimmeron insists on sending me a mail every twenty minutes, he might as well include something useful instead of more deconstruction gear. Why not attach 1d6 soul gems per mail?

Just my two copper. I hope you consider this.

    TL;DR:
Suggestion: Resurrecting others should yield AP like repairing a keep. Rewards of the Worthy should regularly include filled Soul Gems.

Because u die every time and others rez you, this is a good 'motivation'...

There's that annoying bug when you're unable to target a player(well, their body :p ) for the res. Somehow I've also managed to get the trade/duel/report/etc interaction wheel when trying to res a few times lol. So there's that.
That aside I think most people actually res these days, I've actually seen some randoms really risk their lives(stand under siege/5 m away from enemy zerg etc) to get me up this week, that was sweet. I try to return the favor unless I'm getting targeted by a coldfire siege or enemy players.

The targeting is an issue, but other than that... If I/we can stop for a sec to get rezzes without forfeiting a positive tide of the battle, I don't really think a lot of extra motivation is necessary there. Those are your dead allies on the floor.

About AP with rez: not is a bad idea, anyway.

plus 1,000...ugh, it drives me nuts sometimes trying to get in the exact right spot for rezzing for someone - little to the left, little to the right, move up, move down, again a little to the left...the hell with it, sorry :#

actually it's kind of fun to try to rezz someone in a tough spot like a wall breach or in the middle of a wild melee...

I do notice though - a lot of folks won't rezz non vet characters...not sure why - at some point we were all non vets too...
