AD starter home unfair?!

Hey guys,
I thought a lot about writing this or not...
but I am real sad about it so I'm gonna do it.

I made a char from each alliance to get all the free starter homes and furnished all of them, beside the AD one, which my only actually played char is from.
It is just not possible to fit a bed in, nicely, and not even close to a desk, bed, dresser, nightstand... all things that fit in perfectly fine in the other starting homes.
I would LOVE to use the Auridon home!! But in the small and weird shape its just not possible, I think that needs to be changed!

Let me know your thoughts.

    So what?

If the housing prices in stuck up altmer lands are so high that you get only half the space at the same price... :p;)

Forget the coffin hotel, buy some decent home!

There are quite a few very nive looking houses in AD in general. Obviously that's my opinion, but if I were you I would focus on saving up for one of the smaller, affordable homes and take it from there.
There's a nice khajiiti one, and the imperial one (sorry I am bad with names) also looks great. I don't think any of them are over 70k, but I might be wrong.

Anyway, my rambly point is don't spend too much effort on the tiny rooms. Get a real house with a nice little garden and go nuts there ;-)

You can also by a somewhat larger room from 11-15k, that might help.

Or make a bed roll and sleep on the floor.

A free thing can't be "unfair", even if it's rubbish...you don't get to complain about free stuff.

Go do the other faction quests and get their free inn rooms, or better yet - go buy yourself a nice house and decorate the crap out of it!

    Thank you!

I can fit a damn double bed in the others and there not even a single bed!

Yes, it is very small; however I put a bed, rug, dresser, and night stand, all high-elf style in mine. It's tight, but nice.

Yes I did, you're complaining about not being able to fit in all the things you think should fit into that room.

    And?

Complaining about free stuff is complaining about free stuff = stupid.

    No they can't.

If it's free it's something for nothing, more than you had before.

Is getting something for nothing unfair?

If you see it like that, then it was not free, I bought the game, I spent my time for the quest and for all that input it is not fair.

Urgh. And I find it unfair that the Mathiisen Manor in Auridon is soooo much bigger than Quondam Indorilia while Mathiisen is even cheaper.
Hope the input for a 1 million gold home doesn't pale in comparison to what you have been throuugh for your free room in that inn.

It is really weird that the Auridon starter closet is so tiny. It's really much easier just to use it literally as storage rather than a house.

Or you could decorate it like a prison room. It would look appropriate for the size. :s

Actual that's a nice idea. I will open a kinky cell in the dominion right after I finished my sadistic torture Chateau. Just need to gather that 3.7 million. But not before I complain that the Ebonheart Chateau has no spot for that master angler vessel, unlike the cheaper Castle near Daggerfall.

meanwhile (granted one of my fave houses in game, but nonetheless - not the faction my main is) Velothi reverie is a large house masquerading as medium one, at a medium price.

housing prices in this game are just... weird and all over the place.

and entirely unequal. but... I'm honestly not sure how it can be fixed? I will say one thing. apartment in skywatch? is a hell of a deal for 11k you pay for it. ceilings are high enough to add a second floor with no issues whatsoever.

[snip] By your logic we shouldn't complain about anything in the base game. After all, it's "free" in the same sense as the free houses. No idea why anyone would get so irate by another person over something so trivial.

Tried to put a painting on the wall of that walk-in closet, even that didn't work due to the curved walls. Half the painting seemingly sticks out the wall. :o

Thought experiment for you @Betheny: a guy walks into a classroom and says "I'm going to give everyone in this class free money!" He then proceeds to give $10,000 to each white student, and a shiny nickel to each student of a different race. Is that scenario fair? I don't think the AD free room is all that bad. I lived with just that one home for a little while before I gathered more furnishing plans and took the plunge and decided to purchase a bigger one. I find the little room to be rather sweet  I put a second level in mine for a bedroom, so that I was able to add more furniture beneath it.

Only comparable if like with these inn rooms those other students could go get that $10,000 also for free if they wanted, because their race and political views can be changed with a character make and delete button.

Yes it's perfectly fine - they got everything for free and nothing to complain about.

Also - awkward - you're making this thread take a sudden turn down the racist road.

I do feel that all of the starter rooms should have been the same size. The Mara's Kiss room is short and has too many angles in it to be set up as a bedroom.

But, y'know, it was actually free. You can pay the princely sum of 3,000 gold to get the Rosy Lion inn room, which is by far the nicest. Or get it without paying a penny on a DC character.

I'm much more bothered about houses which cost a substantial amount of gold or Crowns (real money!) and are significantly reduced in features when compared to others of the same price.
