Maybe if North America had two servers, ZOS could fail over on one while maintenance is performed on the other. You know, no disruption of service?
Just saying.

Given the sizes of the zergs fighting full time, everywhere pretty much, performance has actually been somewhat decent I'd say. Laggy yes, did ping out to login screen a few times, did get red ping a lot but overall was quite a bit less than I'd normally have near groups THAT size.
80v80 20/20 siege on Chalman went at ~350 stable ping(normal is 200-250), that's actually quite an improvement. Was playable somewhat still.
Actually, the real concern is that their data is going to be missing a big chunk of prime weekend time because of this. Extending the double AP event wouldn't really help that - they'd pretty much need to do another identical mini-event next Saturday instead of extending this test event if they wanted good data. Or they could hope that they have good enough Saturday data from the other servers (which is probably reasonable).Lady_Rosabella wrote: »@ZOS_GinaBruno is it too early to ask for ZOS to extend the Cyrodiil testing so we can get more of the double AP to make up for the servers being down?

It seems 95% of ESO forum posters have no idea what a DDoS is. They just keep assuming it's server hardware, and it's cute.

Really? You just said that knowing WoW has more than a dozen, failing DDO has 8, Lotro has a dozen and so on. You really just said this?
Your lack of knowledge on the subject is headache worthy.

LOL really ? If they were awesome at their jobs we wouldn't be having the issues we have (especially on weekends).

MAINTENANCE MODE
The server is currently undergoing maintenance.
Please try logging in later.
Then I have to find whats going on so come here and find lots of issues.
Would be grateful Gina and rest of ZOS staff to have a message on loader (With a link to this site re ISSUES.) offline to maintenance update or something???.
An ETA would be to much to be expected from ZOS or more information.
Guess the issue is to sensitive to make public.
Wonder if the PTS is up?
Going to have a look.
Funny how a MMOG Elite Dangerous give a warning about updates and maintenance and an ETA to game back online and either come in under ETA or on time, forthcoming on issues to all users. Can have single player mode and multiplayer mode and all currency called credits (ESO currency gold.) / equipment is interchangeable between single player and multiplayer servers.)

Playing since October 2013You walk the narrow path that cuts between glory and sacrifice--valor and patience. You measure your pursuit of honor with reason and foresight.

It is more they need to invest in localized servers and upgrades across the board AND yes it will cost them, but if they have these "millions" of players they can afford and absolutely need to invest in infrastructure for their servers.

You'd have to have twice the amount of hardware they currently have. That's insanely expensive anyway, but even more so for a company like ZOS, who seem to cut every financial corner they can because their customers don't have to be here.

I took your advice. Created a character (one I have been wanting/waiting to redo on PC) and loved how she was looking in chargen. So I took screenshots of all my slider values. Then got to Wailing Prison and realized that my screenshot key hadn't been bound yet. Shoot!
