Why spend 1.3M on a house that has no functionality? sure you can place crafting stations....but that's it....if your not a maxed out master crafter it does more harm than good, I really hope ESO gets its stuff together....and adds other functions! like sleeping in a bed for the hell of it! Or small cabinets that are strictly for (idk cooking mats) I mean....who stores a banana in a bank instead of their house? These aren't must do's im just saying give us a reason to buy the house if we aren't master crafters!

For me the main function is being able to design some fun environments for duels.

Really, it's a pretty amazing update, where they have provided us with our own complete level editor system. I just wish we could enable more than 2 people in a duel, for example 1v1v1 or 2v2, 2v2v2 etc.

From the way housing and the furniture crafting is set up, it's intend to serve the function of keeping you busy until Morrowind comes out, while also serving as an enourmous goldsink (which I'm actually fine with). What I don't understand is that people didn't realise from the start that housing is an enourmous pile of dirty smelling non-content, which should have been obvious as soon as you heard about it.

The most infuriating thing about the Homestead update is the fact that all the performance issues and major bugs have not been addressed at all. They have done nothing to solve any of the issues induced by updates as far back as Dark Brotherhood, and I dread to think of how the game might implode on itself come Morrowind.

The beautiful thing is... if you don't like housing? It doesn't hurt you at all not to participate.

I've had a blast with housing. Anyone can participate- or not. It gives crafters something to sell since half the time the type of people who want armor made seem to want it for free.

One of my guilds has a parkour course. One of my guilds gm changed her primary residence to snugpod so anyone could go to grahtwood for free. My trials guild has multiple test dummies in their main residence. My pvp guild is using housing for a fight club. I think this dlc doesn't leave anyone out.
Heck. On ps4 gold mats decreased in price so fast it was ammaaaazing. The market needed some kind of gold dump to fix inflation.

I refuse to be negative about housing- keep calm and rp on. B)

Armor dyes, skin/hair/eye color choice, nose length, horse color, weapon graphic, attack animation...

    All have no actual 'functionality'.

    What's your points?

ESO House Parties incoming? We getting a /striptease emote?

I can Agree with most of what you say. I ALSO am disappointed to the fact that we are very limited in the amount of items which we can place in our homes. THE CAP needs to be removed. WHEN a Banana or songle potatoe constitutes as an item against our maximum capacity...... that is crazy! And my thoughts are.... Zenimax.... loves taking or legally extorting as much money from us..... they will likely Increasebthe housing item cap.... but FOR CROWNS! Micro managing ....

    However, as for crafting
YES, i believe that ppl Should be made to go through the 1yr time restraints it takes for to become a master crafter. We master crafters placed a dedicated year into achieving our status..... and invested millions into obtaining our styling motifs etc. It would be extremely unfair for zenimax to turn around and then .... just Hand it out to new players.. ... if they did that, the remaining loyal players would also quit on that basis. I mean, afterall, with morrowind patch notes already stirred the pot.... and the top players are quitting or already have quit eso...

Let me start by saying that I havent read all the posts here, so forgive me if this has been stated already...

DC Universe Online has "housing" (its called your Base on that game), and you have a device in it that you can use to buff your stats and this device also features other technological enhancements that will make you more formidible in combat...

Now it does require maintenance in the form of ingame currency to keep up; if you dont keep it up, the buffs stop functioning...

Anyway, maybe ESO can implement something similar to this...

Welcome to housing in every other MMO?

Not every other MMO, SWTOR allows you to store your items in a bank at your house, and it also is a quick travel option that is faster for you to travel to and jump back to your ship rather than going to the space port each time..

In ESO it is... A LOT of money... what you can use it for I would guess is RPing?? I honestly have no idea what the good point of housing is hahaha!

And on consoles even less of a reason, cause RPing is dead (don't think RP ever took off on consoles). ESO housing is shameful, costs a ton of money and serves no purpose unless you like to just look at pixels. Star Wars Galaxies for me was the peak of MMO housing, you could even use your ship for a house. I had a fully decorated Y-8 mining cruiser, loaded up 4 friends in it and blew up a star destroyer....never had an experience in an MMO like that since.

Housing has the same function as the rest of the content in the game. It's an interactive environment with things to do. Out in the wild you can farm mats, in a dungeon you beat the boss, in a house you craft and design.

I don't have much time for people who run the same dungeon over and over - I don't think it's much fun, and I can't personally see the purpose. On the other hand, I don't come on here whining about it all the time.

It is an expensive shoebox you can decorate as you want until you reach the max furniture amount *stares at zos with a frown* for your characters. Don't like it? Don't invest in it.
