Houseing has no functionality!!!!!

willklippsteinb14_ESO
Why spend 1.3M on a house that has no functionality? sure you can place crafting stations....but that's it....if your not a maxed out master crafter it does more harm than good, I really hope ESO gets its stuff together....and adds other functions! like sleeping in a bed for the hell of it! Or small cabinets that are strictly for (idk cooking mats) I mean....who stores a banana in a bank instead of their house? These aren't must do's im just saying give us a reason to buy the house if we aren't master crafters!

You should prob jump on the PTS forums and provide feedback in the tagged thread.

There is more than one for housing but I think it may be overlooked here.

As a master crafter, I'm only gonna buy a cheap house to stuff the IC crafting tables in and whatever else I have room for :p

It's a better deal for roleplayers, basically

Welcome to housing in every other MMO?

DAOC: Neighborhoods, vast area, many decorations and trophies, personal seller at each house, global search for those sellers, many kiosks from teleporter to crafter to merchants of every kind, vaults, personal + house vaults + guild vaults for guild houses.

If they could have taken that old mmo's housing and taken to the state where mmos are today it could have been glorious.

Not exactly true; there is an Achievement based option for unique decor but yes more functionality is needed for this. Really for everyone more nuance and functionality is needed (storage and storage display options such as mannequins); the existing features will feel nice for me as a Role Player et al..

Welcome to housing in every other MMO?

Not every other MMO, SWTOR allows you to store your items in a bank at your house, and it also is a quick travel option that is faster for you to travel to and jump back to your ship rather than going to the space port each time..

In ESO it is... A LOT of money... what you can use it for I would guess is RPing?? I honestly have no idea what the good point of housing is hahaha!

I think Homesteads are a good start to housing.

But that is all; they fall woefully short on some of the baseline expectations for MMORPG housing these days.

I'd rather have Homesteads than nothing, but as things stand only just.

    Better functionality is a must.

Large Houses should have the ability to have their own Stable Master that would allow the use to upgrade mounts in 50% of the normal time for example.

Houses with an outside area could have a Garden from which we could harvest Alchemy and some Provisioning mats, for example, and the better we tend to those gardens the better mats we get access to.

In Home storage is a must - and I really can't see how ZOS can come close to justifying it not being there already. I simply do not believe the reason given; and think it is a "lazy excuse" to cover up a genuine lack of imagination in how In-Home Storage could be handled.

You can sleep in bed at the inn right now. I don't see how that's not going to work in your house?

Also, chairs will be interactable as well.

Some things to give more functionality that would be awesome.

    Writ boards
    Writ turn in locations
(How awesome would it be to have all of these in the same room with crafting benches?)

Stable NPC to do horse upgrades
A banker (I guess we have the assistant, but wow is that expensive)
General store NPC to purge crap and buy motif stones

I do agree with the lack of function housing has....
    You wanna make housing relevant??
    Add storage on house

    1. Gardening for gathering plants (Alchemy).
    2. Creation of a forest so I can farm wood for crafting.
    3. Creation of a mine to gather ore, where some ore will appear after a time interval.
    4. Ability to sell items at a kiosk in front of your house.
    5. Ability to create a pond or lake so you can fish.
    6. Add the transmorg option a house item.

All if these will make me visit my home more often.

I can continue on and on.... but not ONE functional item has been added besides crafting stations....... this is SAD for me.. cause I know ill get bored very quickly with just cosmetic items.

I have tested it in the PTS and I think it's fun. Sure, not for everyone. I love dungeons, trials, challenge etc, but from time to time it's good to relax and just craft some cool chairs and sofas

You are right, I haven't tried it. I have seen the videos and tread some articles.
I do have similar experiences with our decorating aspects in other games, which I enjoyed and I cannot see why this would be different. Besides, I like hunting and crafting the decorations which is another aspect of the housing gameplay.

I have to admit, I love the idea of a stable master in your own home that will allow you to upgrade your mount skill in 50% of the usual time.

And I remember reading somewhere that we would be able to interact with the furniture of our homes, not sure to what extent, but still excited to see Homestead finally.

Housing is a cosmetic distraction, nothing more. I'm looking forward to it, but not the massive 1,000+ item grind and the lack of inventory for all the new crap being added. =/

Im sure they will add more to the housing eventually. They want to put out a base version to see the player feedback, how everyone will use their homes and what features players would like to see added. Many of the mounts people have now were only on people's wishlist in the crown store threads about a year ago. Some players said houses should have been included from the beginning, this may be true but at least they are adding it.

I do like the idea of functional gardens but that would probably be OP for provisioners and alchemists not having to farm the open world like everyone else. I also like the stablemaster idea too. Some way for my alts to level their mount skill without having to endlessly toon swap.

Training dummy, attuned crafting tables, not all useless, but with no kind of storage or way to display armor sets, all they are is a little fun decorating and getting patterns to craft furniture.

You don't have to buy a house.

The main feature I would like to see in housing is storage. Until then housing is very much like fancy outfits or mounts from the Crown store, buy them if you want them, otherwise don't bother.

in most mmo housing always give you some reason to visist.. like gw2, where you have all sort of personal harvest node.. access to all the merchant..etc

but eso so far have done nothing alike.. they use old npc house template and sale us one room house template with no bathroom or owlhouse.. you have absolutely no reason to ever visit your house and it is the what they intended...
