Thread for newbie advice in dungeons.

I thought I'd make a thread where people can vent amd give contructive advice on what's expected from certain group members. Hopefully people will read this and improve a little. I'll get the ball rolling:

Tanks: stop spreading adds. Seriously guys I know it's probably tempting as hell but DO NOT DRAGON LEAP INTO GROU[ED ADDS. It wastes our resources and instead of burning them all you got to kill them individually. I know you're all like "bowling pins". Injust get mad and skip to the next adds, you can deal with ur mess >.<

Running around with the boss. Same problem with scattering adds. It just wastes loads and loads of resources and takes forever to kill things. Don't get me wrong, there are exceptions, but the general rule of thumb is 'stack and burn'.

--

Healers: stay with group. Healing springd is a good skill, stay with the dps and cast combat prayer/healing springs on yourself. Thr dps will keep you alive, and younheal yourself too. Breath of life isn't really needed.

I can't tell you how many times our group for wgt got a healer who jist sat in the back getting mob aggro amd screaming at the dps that didn't want to look away from the boss and get killed.

Trust me, alot of you use dw, check out blade cloak. This amd your rune focus will make you reallllllly tanky.

Well can't forget about the simplest advice, stay out of red.

One thing I do see from new tanks is failing to interrupt boss attacks.
Some melee dps also ignore it. If the tank is indisposed for some reason, bash the boss.

I find myself having to step in to do it as healer which is not good. Sure I can just heal though most things but bosses like first mate wavecutter can wipe groups if allowed to do their thing.

    #World bosses
I'm not the most experienced myself (I'm playing a squishy stamblade), but I increasingly find myself having to use vigor to keep tanks alive who doesn't seem to have any self-heal capability. When attacking a world boss you never have a guarantee of having a healer close to hand, so make sure that you equip some kind of self-healing.

Not the worst either. "Casual" != "totally ignorant"

DPS: Stop running so far away that you run out of the warm glow light of my AOE heals. I'm not going to chase you down and BOL you. I can't click on your name to make sure you get the heal so stay within the giant healing circles I put down. I put down several HOTs and AOE heals but they don't work if you leave the area.

Don't taunt the boss with a frost staff if you're not tank (actually, I've never seen a tank using a frost staff yet).
    PC|EU
    - Behold: the Staff of Magnus.
What? What happened? Where is it?
    - You stupid, I've taken it just now.
    - By the shining trees of Aldmeris. We have been burgled. But how?
That staff was an illusion. Where's the real one?
    - Oh... ok.

Pick a role, learn it, get good at it, THEN experiment with hybridization.

Heavy armor is not a play style, it is equipment.

Mobs aoe, bosses single target. Unless otherwise this should be done in almost all pulls. I don't know why some decide to handle a mob all by themselves and forgot about the group

Tanks: There are two taunts in this game. One is the first skill under sword and board, the other is Inner Fire from the Undaunted skill line. You should have both, eventually, but make sure you are always running with one. You can also taunt with heavy attacks from an ice staff if you have the correct passive, but it takes so long to charge you really need to have one of the other taunts as well.
Also, please spin the boss to face away from the group. This keeps his heavy frontal cone attacks and such from killing the rest of the group. Be selfish, take all the attention, it's a good thing. :)

Healers: Grand Healing and its morphs are one of the best healing spells in the game. Yes, it's the first healing skill listed, and yes, it's annoying to learn how to place it. It's also the most powerful and cost effective spell in the game, and the most important healing spell in veteran trials.
Also, a healer's primary job is healing, so make sure to do your best to keep everyone topped off with health. A healer's secondary job is to buff the group and help with resource management. If you are on top of both of those, then you can contribute dps, but not until then. If you are still learning, make sure you are comfortable with healing before adding buffs, and make sure you are comfortable healing and buffing together before you add damage.
Sometimes it's the healer's fault, but sometimes it's not. Learn the difference. If you find yourself spamming Breath of Life to keep a teammate alive because his health keeps dropping suddenly, or his name is usually grayed out in the group list meaning he is out of range, it's generally his fault. If his health is moving down slowly, and he is staying within range of your heals, it's a healing issue, so be sure to keep your Heal Over Time skills up. If you aren't sure if his health went down slowly or quickly then you weren't paying enough attention. Learn from mistakes, and also from others' mistakes.
Lastly, healers should usually not resurrect other players. Let the dps do it whenever possible, but also recognize when they can't. In those cases, it's either the healer or the tank who should resurrect. Communicate with the tank when possible to determine who should be doing the resurrections.

DPS: Do not stand too close to the tank. The boss should be between you and the tank whenever possible. Also make sure you stay within range of the healer.
Please do your best to stay out of the red telegraphs unless your healer tells you otherwise. (Some fights, like Bloodspawn, the healer should just heal through the damage due to other mechanics at play.)
If someone on your team goes down, be quick with a resurrection. Know the boss mechanics to know the safe times to resurrect others.
Do not drag adds away from the group. It's faster if those with AoEs can take down everything at once. If the tank goes down and you get aggro, do your best to keep the boss and/or adds inside any AoEs cast by your team.
Do not run ahead and aggro everything. That's why you have a tank! Also, while taunts with Tremorscale may work well for DPS in PvP, please don't use a taunt in PvE unless you are the tank... You will die quickly, and your team will be very frustrated.

Lots of other stuff, but these are the most important basics I think?
