That brings me to something else i'd like to see in the game - i'd like it if your character had to, or at least had the option to, automatically switch to "social"/civilian clothes and hide their weapons upon entering towns or anywhere away for combat.
Even if you find npcs giving quests on farms or in houses out in the world, it'd be nice if even some of them said, "I'm not talking to you while you're dressed like that!".
If you're on PC check out the addon Loreplay. It's not quite what you're asking for, but it lets you set up your character to wear a costume while in towns and then take the costume off when outside a town. You can either pick a single costume for it, or let it use any of your costumes, or select certain costumes only for it. It also replaces your idle animations with various emotes that are slightly smart, in that different emotes are possible depending on the location you're in (that's mostly what I use it for, but I have a couple of characters who use the costume in town aspect of it too).

I don't know that I'd want to force it on other players, but yeah, some acknowledgement of that sort of thing would be so cool. Like, if you're wearing one of the skimpy bikini outfits in Skyrim, you get people saying "aren't you cold?" and wearing armor or ragged clothing when meeting royalty gets you dirty looks from their retainers. Most of my characters have different costumes they don in different situations to help simulate this. XD
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Killed on sight seems a bit much. Bounty seems reasonable.

It'd be nice if that was a regular part of the game.

As it is i'm playing on PS4 but even in the few PC games i play, i never use mods - partly i'm wary that such mods might contain viruses, but mostly i'm wary of how such mods might unintentionally break things in the game or make it incompatible with patches/dlc/official servers etc.

The closet thing i've come to using mods in a game is the X series' Bonus Pack which are small additions, which have been cleared to work perfectly with the rest of the game :) .

Like i said, at most i only really want it as an optional restriction and in general i'd be happy with the npcs just complaining about your behaviour :) .

This has been this way since day 1 of the PC beta. I know because I spent day 1 of the PC beta hiding in the woods trying to lower my bounty.

I always throw rapids on people trying to escape the law. You don't get a bounty for that.

I tried post this as a ticket in the support section of this website, but when i clicked, "Find Assistance" a search wheel came up and just kept spinning, so i've no choice but to post here and hope someone at Zenimax reads this.
(Also, i'd no problem logging in to the forum section of this site and am clearly logged in, but i couldn't log into the support section - is that a know bug?)

I've a link to a Youtube video i uploaded to show something that happened to me in game, which had me very confused:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1748Zdr3WY

If you can view the video, as i said in the description, did i suffer the most ridiculous bug ever or did i discover an equally ridiculous extension of this games' justice system?

Do you get a bounty for even unknowingly helping a fugitive or criminal?

If it's the latter, it's as said ridiculous.
The game didn't warn me in any way, it should have a "Confirm decision to help criminal, this will earn you a bounty.", like how it warns you that it'll cost you gold if you fast travel somewhere without using a wayshrine etc.

I didn't have any bounty at all before this, in fact i've had the "prevent attacking of innocents" option activated since my early days of playing this game, because i accidentally earned bounties for hitting an attack button near npcs in towns.

But under the regular system, you earn some bounty for attacking an innocent, more for stealing and more still for killing an innocent npc, but as said, i seem to have gotten an instant, "You will be killed on sight bounty", for helping a random player and effectively got punished for being a helpful person! :( .

If this is an intended part of the game, please take note of my dislike of it and consider warning people about it, giving them an option to confirm that they want to help a criminal or remove bounties for such acts immediately! :) .
