Should CPs Really Carry Over to New Characters?

Just a question. Keep it friendly. I just want a decent fair discussion. I'm also unaware of any other threads like this, so don't shoot me yeah? Please leave your reasons as to why you voted what you did.

I personally think that a new character should mean a total new start and CPs shouldn't carry over because its way too easy to have a new max level character available once you hit level 50. In light of the new Warden class due to be released, we're going to see a lot of threads about the Warden being OP until it gets balanced, because people will have CP600 Wardens. This isn't just about the new class though. The overall post is mostly just about new characters and whether CPs should carry over.

I was surprised in the beginning that CP would be usable from level 1. I'm used to it now. The leveling process is a few hours or maybe a couple nights if you want to go fast. It's basically a non issue unless you want it to be. You hit level 50 and you're good to go. If ZOS wants me to have my 600cp for those couple hours while I grind up a new toon, who am I to argue.

Now if instead you are arguing that I should have to regrind all my CP on each new character I make, you are out of your freaking mind.

The same as achievements & skill points should. But NOPE. You have to grind them all over again on new character...

I'm not going through the hell of leveling mu characters from Vet again.. I had a Vet 7 and a Vet 4 and when Champion points transferred over I was so happy.

but tbh CP are to damn strong by default, they contribute to much to the power creep i personally want their impact halved.

leveling characters and/or repeating all the quests is one thing. Imagine the agony of grinding your way through all the CP levels again

Hard? lol. Don't confuse difficulty with grind. It wouldn't be hard to get 600 cp on each new character. I'd have to take out a lease on a room inside Skyreach Catacombs for the rest of my life getting all my toons back to 600 cp again and that's if I even wanted to bother. The current system is balanced for account bound CP and is very alt friendly. What you're asking for is the death of all alt characters and shows your EXTREME lack of understanding of why CP is account bound to start with.

It would also stop players with CP600 characters challenging genuine new players with their level 10 but (secretly 600CP) for wins and proceeding to act cool and big up their egos in chat.

I'd like for alts to be a thing without a stupid mega-grind barrier each time I want another one.

Already have to go thru alliance war, skyshards, lorebooks and undaunted (even crafting for some), so thank you very much, but no thanks.

Even if you think that "new character = new game", trust me, it's for the best. With a new class coming and another rumored to be coming in 2018, I'd like to see those classes actually exist because no current player would drop their champion points to play a new class.

Yes

There are a lot of people that enjoy playing only one character. When Morrowind comes out, if they want to play Warden they will have to start over again (unless ZOS offers class change in the crown store which seems unlikely,). For them, it simply makes sense to let them carry over cp since they will have to grind their characters to max and redo everything anyway.

For the rest of us who are altaholics, it's just a bonus.

I think few would disagree about CP being account based as it currently is.

However I do understand some fearing the warden will be OP since we don't know anything about it ATM. Even once it comes out it'll take some awhile to figure out how to combat some player builds which will bring about threads calling for a nerf even if one isn't warranted.
