Is this set useful for tanks only?

A stam DD could wear it if rly needed, but as they are in a bad spot in high end pve anyway, they really shouldn't

Usually tanks run it because it fits in easily with their setup.

Stamina DPS can run it too, but we currently always see it on tanks because Stamina DPS is poor this patch compared to Magicka DPS.

- 2x Monster Set (Bloodspawn, Lord Warden, etc)
- 5x Ebon armor (or another support set if the other tank uses it)
- 5x Alkosh jewelry/weapons

Gold Alkosh jewelry also gives a lot of Max Stamina which is great for tanks since they already have enough health and don't need to stack so much of it.

for stam dps is nice, I tested it on robust skeleton dummy, VO and alkos...for 5 parts without synergys to use alkos and VO are almost same to dps, difference is minimum, almost ot to see in dps but if you will get synergys to use elkosh then armor debuff to boss and this noncrit dot will give you more dps than VO + debuff boss armor for rest group to melt this boss..

now about stam dps...just in trials i nice to take only this 1 stam dd to make closer to 100% uptime of alkosh on boss because I dont think 1 tank can provide it always

Alkosh + Two Fanged Snake + Maelstrom Daggers + Maelstrom bow.

Basically your standard stamina DPS build, but with a 5 piece Alkosh instead of 3 VO + Velidreth

I run that nowadays, so I can pretend to be useful. I also have Aggresive Horn slotted on my back bar to pretend that I have huge potential utility.

Some successful tank players run it in progression guilds, so now it's considered BIS for utility-focused tanks and a number of people won't consider anything else.

Mind, it's a great set for tanks in jewlery+weapons.

Lunar Bastion probably could use a buff. From what I understand, the shield isn't enough for many trials groups to consider running it even if you have a number of stamDDs. Which is a shame, as it is a gorgeous set.

Why do i get the feeling you are yet an other guy condemning people that do the math behind things and are successful?

This set gives THE WHOLE group almost 5% more dmg. And there is no real loss for the tank when wearing it. So ofc it is BiS

I'm not condemning anyone. It's a great set and Woeler is one of the better theorycrafters and best tanks in the game. (I also use builds and theory similar to what he does.)

I'm condemning the people who can't do numbers on their own and mindlessly follow builds without understanding the mechanics and numbers behind them. There is a vast difference. Especially those that can't be arsed to look into alternatives on their own.

A tank does give up other potential sets on their jewelry (so less ult gen, mitigation, self-sustain, or self-healing depending on the set you replace). The 5% damage boost is simply worth the trade-off in most situations.
