It's actually one of the slowest ways to level . The XP reductions in those big groups are not as ideal as a smaller groups with constant mobs to grind . It's popular though . I don't bother telling people that think it's great that it's not . Keeps them out of my grind spots anyways .

Its not done for mob xp its done for the completion xp for the dolmen. Its the same being in a group or solo but when you in a big group you dont really have to do anything if you dont want. Perfect if you have chores to do around the house. Just every five min or so you have to go to another dolmen.

    I see now .

I tried it for awhile but didn't seem to get as much XP as pure grinding so I went back to grinding . The money from looting junk was better too .

I also think many people do them because they are cool, fun and something awe-inspiring I mean I still love it when I hear the horn...

I sometimes rush over there to do it because it's just something out of the ordinary ( killing, questing, farming, stealing )

Just got these today after a 5 hour farm for purple mother's sorrow rings. I ended up with 6 purple plague doctors & two purple night mothers rings. Not one mothers sorrow ring lol.

    Spinners was much worse though.

Are the loot drops better than vet dungeons?

Honestly I find it therapeutic after a long and hard day, I do not do it all night though I just prefer leveling in a variety of ways, questing can get boring as other tasks can. As others said when there is large dolmen groups its actually not very efficient, in smaller groups it can be really good exp. It is also a really good way to rank and level up skills without much effort.

Farming Cold Harbour and Imperial City are much faster ways to level the Fighters Guild quest line.

Dolmens give decent with xp if you are an fairly small group.
Doing them then its 100 people around is pretty pointless.
Not sure if group size also nerf weapon leveling ?
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Me too. I love it. It's exciting to hear that horn and gallop as fast as you can over there to join in the fight.

I will do it if I need Jewelry for a Dropped Set. And, every character I level does a couple of hours of dolmen grind to get a big chunk of the FG out the way. But to go from 3 to 50 just doing dolmens? I would rather massage the back of my eyes with a bamboo sliver dipped into Sriracha.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I only farm the same Dolmen for a long period of time for Jewelery - and then only if there is also a Wold Boss nearby to farm. Then I go back and forth. Otherwise to me it's time wasted. Dolmen - WB - Dolmen - WB. Then when I got 3 purple Jewelry I go farm the Public Dungeon in the Zone.

If I want to Grind FG the most efficiently I do Imperial City on a low pop server and get Telvar as a bonus.

As far as XP goes, don't you get the less XP for doing the Dolmen the second time? So if I want to Grind XP I just go through a Zone and do all the Dolmens, World Bosses and Public Dungeons Once and either decon or sell the equipment I don't want.

In my Opinion farming Dolmen for XP is either for people who are really lazy or not very good and need help to survive.

You get more xp the first time, however at lest on later tries it scales with number of people.
If its packed you can just forget it, just moving in an straight line killing random mobs give more:
an small group and its an significant boost, say 1/6 of an level.

And to get skill xp its very nice, this is nice for healer or tank builds.

They are usually farming purple jewelry for sets that drop for that zone. They are also good for xp grinds and leveling up the Fighter's Guild skill line.

I wouldn't count on alot of purple drops though. Unless the RNG gods smile upon you alot.
