I play between 5-15 hours a week, I would guess.

I normally play for 1-3 hours after 11pm, when most of my housemates have gone to bed. I normally stop playing about 2am on a work night, but i've played until 6am sometimes... Oops.

Tonight, I'll be playing for longer thanks to homestead.

I've nearly finished the PvE content though - just craglorn, IC and some Trials/Dungeons left. Groups in the middle of the night are much more casual friendly, i've found.

Please put the Eyevea/EarthForge wayshrines back on the map?

I can't say that eso took a lot of my time. When I was with wow, I played 10-12 hours a day. Sometimes I literally fall asleep at the keyboard while questing, raiding, etc. It took a toll and my studies were affected, social life was almost gone (I had real life friends who played wow as well so it wasn't too bad) and work for me was part time since I was wow-ing full time.

I knew I had to quit it but I couldn't, the world was making me forget that I had responsibilities, work, school, gf... So I managed to stop simply because wow didn't have any appeal to me anymore. Funny thing is, I considered myself as a casual gamer. I wasn't raiding on the top tier, nor did I managed to gain access to raiding guilds because I wasn't 'driven' enough. But there was so much you can do, so much you can explore. I was an altoholic, I fished, I pvped, dungeon running..

So when I came about with eso, I told myself I needed to limit the game time. So even if I have long off days, I try to limit to at least 4 hours a day since I don't actually play on work days.

Love the game but am lucky to get 10 hours a week in, if that. I definitely fall in the "casual" category which is kinda unrewarding in just about every MMO which also happens to be my favorite genre. Not throwing shade but I really don't know how people are able to play 30+ hours every week. I'm a single male with a full time job and pretty average life(gym, friends, house chores) and still feel like I can barely get an hour or two in a night. Being an adult sucks. :'(

Yea, same here. That's kind of why I made the thread. I was hoping I wasn't the only one to feel behind. Then again, maybe those who play the most are too busy playing and don't spend much time on the forums haha

I try to get 3 hours per night.

    Yep

Thing is, at start of new day.

The gamer is like "I wasted so much time yesterday, time time time wasted, time is on my mind all the time"

The non gamer is like "Yesterday was so much fun, I'm going to try and have even more fun today"

    Difference?
Gamer is still stressed, non gamer just enjoying life like we did before games came into existance.

This is how MMORPGs evolved from
Early days, gaming in early stages.
    Everquest
Sit around with friends and talk to them while waiting for your HP and Mana to go back to 100%. No rush, I'll wait 10 mins for you to come back. Oh you gotta go afk now too. its okay, no rush. See you guys tommorow, lots of fun today. Just made it 1/5 way to level 9 of 50 levels.

    To
    Gaming 15 years later
    ESO
Time time time.... Grind grind grind... Why is this game such a grind??? Time time time. This is taking too long... Time time time time...
No time to chat with you... Time is on my mind. No time to party with you. Solo is fastest way to make best use of my time time time.

    Point is,
longer you are a gamer... the more time time time you worry about.
When gaming was in early stages when people wasnt mentally disorded with mental disorder of best use of time awareness.
Gaming was pretty fun. But when you think of time all the time... Games... They aren't fun anymore. Especially when people make games based on time, rather than making it sociable, enjoyable, and fun.

Funny, I had a discussion on this last week in BDO.

Someone asked my why I played the game as I was just lvl 50, played since early access and had no armor at all. I should leave the game since I didn't try to achieve anything.

I told him I don't give anything about being the best and I don't like grinding. He told me it was a grind game so I better got used to it.

So I told him, it's only a grind game if you make it a grind game since I am not grinding at all. I told him I loved to explore, sail the seas and enjoy the scenery. Someone else in chat whispered me "I love you" when I told that so I am not the only one.

Some people like to grind and get max level ASAP and go for best gear. Well I do not. I love to chat, explore and take my time. When ESO went live there where topics of people who wanted to start a powergrind group to reach V10 within a week. Those players are long gone since they figured out after a week of 24/7 grinding there is nothing at the top.

I played SWG from end 2003 until they pulled the plug. My activities as a ranger where roleplaying, hunting and gathering bones and skin. And yes I had a blast sitting in my camp taking pictures of creatures who wandered by and posting their weaknesses and skin/bone quality of that weak for people who wanted to kill them as quick as possible and artisans.

MMO company sometimes create wonderful virtual worlds. People who only grind and go to endgame ASAP and only fast travel miss a lot of details.

But that is my opinion. Even in cyrodill during PvP I sometimes sit at a lake and admire the beautiful trees.

SWG OMG. Please don't make me cry, that game introduced me to MMOs. It took my 1 year to get to level 50. Then another to get to 80. I one spent a full week in space without landing just having fun.

There is Sooooooooo much to do in ESO. I have played the game on and off for 2 years. I made it to VR16 ON xbox then came over to PC. I never rush to Max lvl if I can help it because there is so much to do.

It's not about how much time you spend in-game, it's bout what you do with that time!
