Addressing Network - LAG Issues on PS4

Let me first off stating that I've been trouble shooting with 20-30 people over the last month in relation to lag issues.

I myself never get any type of lag at all, not even in cryodil with massive zergs, running a fibre connection I receive 82MB Download and 50MB Upload on my ps4 on average.

My friends/guildies also have decent (in my networking opinion) speeds. This issue has been apparent over the last 3-4 weeks. Let me say that when you enter a trial and 5-6 people instantly DC something is seriously wrong. Apparently there is a post from ZOS stating yes there is an issue and it should be resolved this weeks maintenance which has past, now let me say nothing has been resolved.

I've asked members to switch modems, Ethernet cables, telephone cables, filters, port forwarding, entering the PS4 into a DMZ zone, clearing saved data, turning off all interface options. Monitoring speed and ping tests in their existing network, all of which look 100% a ok, streaming, downloading, playing ANY OTHER GAME works like a treat.

I understand that it may not seem like an apparent issue because it's hitting (some) not all, but these issues really need to start getting addressed there is NO technically support found on ESO forums (technical support pages).

The responses you guys are offering to people are an absolute joke, it's time to start taking some of the blame back and try work with the community to address these issues.

I'll tell you I've tried everything I can think of in a home network which may be causing conflicts and speeding up someones network to the best possible outcome and ESO is still having major issues for these people.

Offering (basic silly troubleshooting) is getting insulting I read some of the technical messages back and I'm cringing from a technican stand point that's not fair to people at all.

Pull your heads in for the good of the oceanic community.

West Asutralian here as well. Thank you Luke for this post. ZOS PLEASE FIX THE GAME!!! For a month we were unable to trials, dungeons, pvp, anything that involves challenging fights or fights with multiple enemies. Game freezes, crashes, everything telports around you, you get killed from effects you dont even see, etc. May players that I know who used to play every day no longer even bother logging in because the game is unplayable.

Personally I've logged several complaints regarding this also and as promised have been slamming you on social media for your lack of customer service and accountability. Over the past few weeks this game has become completely unplayable due to your own server faults.

I have followed each of your steps for troubleshooting which involved a host of bs excuses to try and point attention away from the fact that you are a bunch of incompentents [snip] unable to correctly maintain a game that thousands of people opt to pay you to play.

Your service is a joke and has only gotten worse with time.
If it is not fixed soon i know roughly 100 paying customers who are willing to walk away now.

Same issue. The game is stuttering in any vet dungeon and all trials for me, and the vast majority of all Australians in the group. On trash in Helra last night, half the group crashed and the other half got stuttering lag.

It is worst between 3pm and 11pm or so east coast Australia time.

This started at about the start of Feb. close to the day that ESO was DDOS attacked

I also want to offer further information that hopefully we can avoid - it's your internet at fault responses from technical support.

I as a technician system admin and network engineer for over 10 years have been furiously trying to help as many people troubleshoot as I can.

These are our findings:

Out of 50 people I PERSONALLY KNOW I can whole heartily say that 40 of these people are experiencing some what of lag or UNPLAYABLE lag issue.

I've tried multiple modems/routers/switches. Different port jacks in peoples houses, forwarding, dmz zoning, ps4 pro + non ps4 pro.

Each with the same resolution: Their speeds range from 10MB/2MB to upwards of 50MB/20MB.
They each have different ISP's so it's not subject to an ISP banning or blocking certain ESO ports (generally a *** answer).

I can safely determine what has already been said since this DDOS attack there have been nothing but issues for the oceanic region.

The confusing bit is that 5% of us are 100% fine, but you can't honestly say that people need to check their infrastructure you need to step up and address the issues at hand.

A Casual player as my self have only couple hours max a day to play the game and it's very frustrating when I do get the chance to play theirs virtually nothing I can do without either lagging ridiculously or getting disconnected!
I would also like to point out my Internet is fine.

It goes beyond frustration to see so many people being heavily affected, yet no decent communication from your support team anywhere in sight. I`m not even talking about acknowledgment of the issue. It would probably be understandable to see such ignorance towards free to play customers, but most of us not only paid for game itself, but keep paying ESO plus fees. Why would you bother with Homestead update and Morrowind expansion, if you cant manage current state of game and look after existing subscribers.
Stop auto-responding with stupid "solutions" such as to buy better console and pay for better internet. Fix it already.

Not only aussies, i live in south america and some regions of the game has become insanely laggy, in craglorn yesterday i couldnt even sell stuff to npc withouth getting a freeze and a message "Item no longer available". Its not an internet issue since i can play FIFA totally lagless, something is terribly wrong

Some vide proff of the lag captured just now. I was never pressing the block button, on one of the videos i was trying to use ultimate and instedad character was doing crouch alike animation but nothing else happened

I'd be happy if we got some feedback that they've acknowledged it's an issue, the game itself is so bloody good when it's actually working. I'll try reinstalling the game tonight as a last resort, which is what support suggested, and git back on here if things change...

3 hours gaming last night, I had 2 random disconnects and 4 crashes. One was even nice enough to block me from gold jewelry drop in vet trial....no idea why I keep playing this broken POS and sub.

We aren't sure I'm been running trace routes and ping tests over 5 different networks currently I get a 90% hit and miss with the majority.

There's only so much I can do/advise people on currently I'm out of plausible (viable) options.

The only person I know who isn't lagging is:

Myself on 100/100 - 82MB DOWNLOAD - 60+MB UPload on the PS4
Friend 1 on 4gx network - 50/50 - approx 30MB Down and 20-30MB Upload
Friend 2 on the same 4g network

If ZOS wants to contact myself I'm happy to help troubleshoot for the good of the community seeing as I get zero lag, in sydney but it's not about that its about the rest of the bloody oceanic community who is having issues a whopping 75% (the people I know) out of 100, I believe 75 are having serious issues this is pretty shocking...

At least Zos to say I'm not sure and we are looking into it will do for now!

To not hear a word... is pretty disgusting and honestly... sad... hang in there aussies...

East coast Australian here. The lag has definitely gotten a lot worse over the past few weeks. PVP is barely playable again and I can hardly complete a dungeon. Constantly getting stuck on one bar, in the block animation (when I haven't blocked) or everyone freezes for several seconds before becoming unstuck.

I LOVE eso and this is killing it for me.

Edit: major lag issues start around 6pm EST and continue for several hours.

Hi ZOS,

What do we have to do to get a response? This is clearly a widespread problem for Australian players for the past 3-4 weeks.

90% of us are receiving insane lag and we are unable to do VMA, Trials, Dailies all we can do now is collect skyshards and lorebooks if we are lucky.

What changed since the DDOS attack and last 2 maintenances? We need answers.. the game is unplayable.
