Consoles getting buff timers in Morrowind Dlc!?

I am against any "add-ons" and especially timers. Practice one character instead of having 10 of them and you will rebuff automatically at right moment without even thinking about it. That's the beauty of it. Why people want everything to be easier all the time? If we're at it, lets have an auto-lock on the enemy, macros and a minimap showing all group members and enemies just so we don't have to actually put any effort into the fight.

When ESO launched on consoles, it was much more like other Elder Scrolls Games. You didn't know the name of the other player unless you actually talked with him or joined a group, there were no numbers popping up everywhere. There was no text chat, so people actually talked in the cities. It was an online RPG. Now it's changing slowly into a numbers race where a player gets kicked out instantly from a group for not being a maxed out pro. I'm almost maxed out myself, but I hate to see how this game treats new players or less pro players with all the numbers changes. Please keep the console version a true Elder Scrolls experience. You can always try the PC version.

@Supernatural what do you think being the most OP stamblade in existence and pretty much top vma god in the game? Would buff timers make you do it any quicker or would everything still die really quick owing to the skill and time and practice you've put into being the master?

Just a recap for anyone on console. Top score in the game on a stamblade on console. No timers used. Just being awesome at it.

Timers already exist in game, under the character tab. They're just not displayed on screen. That's the issue.

I would love timers and icons on my screen to see what effects are applying to even just my character, on console, let alone what my ally-affecting powers are doing.

If people who play group content on console can honestly track all of the buffs/debuffs that apply to them simply by appearance, they are a lot better than me. I am skeptical they can, but kudos if they are not fibbing to make themselves look good. :)

It all becomes a particle mess to me after a while. You can only make a health bar glow so many ways, or lightning circle my hands so many ways, before it all jumbles together.

Buff timers will not have a big impact on maelstrom. They will help a tiny bit in terms of score improvement, but that's it. On trials though, buff timers will be a massive change, that is for sure.

    1. You can't practice timing on buffs / debuffs. You can't. Especially not in PvP. It is impossible to keep track of 3, 4 invisible buffs in PvE let alone in PvP when you have to care for a dozen other things. I want to know which debuffs are on my, I want to know which buffs are on me. You can't practice that and you can't get your buffs into a rotation like some suggest, that doesn't even work in PvE most of the time and now it should be possible in PvP? lol

Seeing what happens to your character doesn't make your game easier, it makes your gaming experience clearer.

    2. You can't keep this game a “true“ Elder Scrolls experience when it's a “numbers game“ in the end. This is NO usual ES game and should be treated so. This is an MMORPG and no single player RPG.

The "true Elder Scrolls experience" argument works the other way anyway. Both Morrowind and Oblivion had buff indicators in the HUD. It's only Skyrim that didn't.
