I already know both magicka, health and stamina from every plant.

LOL, after i craft the first potion it now discovered "Recover Magicka" Again.

After I craft the first pot, I could create the tri stats one.

Which is weird, because I could create the tri stat pot at low level.

I just made tripots last night, seems to be working fine.

Potion previews only work for what you already know. Otherwise you could just cheat your way to 50 by looking at each result ahead of time.

Listen to this guy.

The preview will tell you that it will craft only two stat potion because you haven't researched all the reagents.
But it will actually make a tri stat potion and reveal any traits that got discovered in the process.
