Boss fights

I have 8 chars at max level, to me anything less than lvl 50 is new.
Especially since it only takes a few hours now to grind a char to 50, if that's your thing.
One Tamriel made leveling less important than finding skyshards and lorebooks.

You are understanding 1T wrong. All content is at max level, and you are scaled up to max level as well. You and I both fought the same Angof, and you and I were both scaled to the same level.

Not the same I had level 16 skills. A level 1 only has level 1 skills. I am not talking about your fight. I already beat him. That video really does not matter anymore. I am talking about claims of a new character beating him in 6 seconds. Do you believe that . Answer that question.

Yes, it is the same. Flame Lash at level 1 is the same as Flame Lash at level 16. And nobody even said they killed him on a level 1 character. I don't even think you can have a level 1 character since you come out of the tutorial at level 3. Just because somebody said "new" character doesn't mean they literally made a new character and then went directly to fight Angof without gaining any more levels. Generally speaking, most people considered a "new" character to be any low level character they just recently made. I'd consider my level 12, or your level 16 to be new characters.

And yes, even if somebody did get to Angof at level 3 (although you'd probably end up at level 4 or 5 due to the prerequisite quests), they could kill him in 6 seconds.

I'm not sure why you are so fixated on this minor detail anyways. This thread was about how insanely difficult the boss fight is, and now all you care about is whether somebody can kill him in 6 seconds on a new character?

Still doesn't matter the debate is a 6 second fight. Not a 47 second one. My own fight did not seem very long . Maybe a minute or so. I didn't time it after I finally beat him. My complaint was not with the length of the fight.

I did it with a brand new character and next to no equipment. Sure, I have some CP, but even just wearing random dropped gear can more than make up for that. As for how I accomplished it, you can see in the video I posted.

The quest boss fights in this game are a piece of cake. Either you're new or you're spamming light bow attacks, hoping it will be enough.

Try the battle now. Since the boss requires going completelly through the Glenumbra quest line . Probably at least 30-40 quests . You probably have not even fought this battle in several years. Certainly not since 1T was released. When was the last time you fought Angof or have you ever fought him.

    For your viewing pleasure, OP:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SC9KCdIFBvg&feature=youtu.be

This is me killing Angof about 15 minutes ago, naked on a level 12 character, with nothing but my sword, shield, food buff, and 200-something CP. I only needed to do like 5-6 quests to get there, not "at least 30-40", and as others have said, this boss is incredibly easy. Wearing any other gear at all and I would've been able to kill him quickly enough to bypass the mechanics altogether. As you should also be able to see in the video, you can get off far more than 1 attack in 6 seconds. In fact, not including DOT ticks, I got off 8 attacks in the first 6 seconds of the fight (medium attack, burning embers, choking talons, flame lash, flame lash, light attack, flame lash, flame lash, to be exact).

If you need help, ask for help and I'm sure others will be able to help you. But if you're going to come to the forums complaining about what is literally the easiest content in the game, and then try to argue about mechanics with people who are much more experienced than you (continually trying to argue that you can only get off 1-2 skills in 6 seconds, for instance), don't expect to get any sympathy.

That being said, if you'd like to post your build (gear and skills) I'd be more than happy to give you tips that'll not only help you get through this boss, but also help you become a better player in general. I'll even craft you some free gear if you need it.

Lol! I tip my har to you sir:)

It took you 47 seconds. Like I said BS you did not kill him in 6 seconds. That was my only comment. And you just proved my point. Thank you. I asked for a video proving you killed him in 6 seconds and you provided a video proving you did not.

    1. I never said I killed him in 6 seconds. Although I definitely could've had I not taken my gear off.
    2. That was not your only comment. You claimed that you can only land a 1-3 hits in 6 seconds, which my video unequivocally disproved.
    3. The video is 47 seconds. The fight is more like 20.
    4. You never asked me for any videos. I made that video to demonstrate how easy the boss is.

If you're not a troll, OP (which based on the fact that you are claiming people, yourself included, said things they never said, I'm convinced you are), you really need to work on your reading comprehension skills.

hedna said he killed him in 6 seconds. I got your post confused with his claims. Its not happening Hedna. And I already beat him so it does not matter anymore. It probably took me about a minute. The problem was surviving that long. Your not following the thread very well if you did not know what I was referring to.

    @dbgager

@hedna123b14_ESO was wearing gear, drop gear, but still not naked like the character in the video so the fight might have gone faster from that. Additionally, depending on class and weapon chosen, some do better earlier on that others.

Regardless of their DPS, survival is paramount. Even when in a group with a healer the dps have primary responsability for their survival, moving to avoid damage, blocking about to get hit by something and shielding when necessary. Basically, being aware of what is going around you at all times.

That will carry you much farther that top dps. People notice the guy who keeps dying. Sometimes they notice the guy who rarely dies because dead dps is kinda low. Get that survival down then you can worry about if you can kill something in 6 seconds.

and OMG, @runagate has joined the show. Hello 2u

Can a group go into a quest boss fight. It seemed to be instanced to me . I entered it at the same time as a bunch of other people and I will still alone in there. It seems to be a single player instance. I could be wrong however.

If it says it is solo, when entering the instance, no.

Instances state if they are group or solo. That fight you had issues with is solo.

lol.. He claimed he beat him in 6 seconds. This guy took 47 seconds to finish that fight. And also when does 20 = 6...even though your going to try to tell me only time swinging counts. I realize that there is no way for you to back down but sorry. Its not happening. Even just swinging for 6 seconds is not going to beat him. But that was not the initial claim anyway.

I don't recall any of the overland bosses being particularly irksome, but maybe things have changed.

What I will say however is savour this moment. Once you hit 50 you are going to find out that no boss in this game offers much challenge, they are all so mechnically basic that you can literally do them in your sleep. And I do mean that, I have before now started to nod off in my chair, such is the soporific nature of rhythmic boss slaying.

And it gets no better with vet bosses, ZOS' idea of increasing difficulty is adding another 2 million HP, not changing up the mechanics, so all you end up with is the same tedious rhythm, but dragged out into a 5 minute, blister-forming slog.

So if you are finding some challenge in the game at your current level, you may want to relish these moments, because they are few and far between, and anyone here will tell you that. The complexity levels in this game need a serious uplift.

One of my posts earlier in this thread:

"Thanks Catagere. I am not trying to troll or anything. I very much like the game and most of my threads up to this point have reflected that. I am just very frustrated with this battle and would like to get past it so I can proceed to the next area. I am new to the game although I did play it for a month when it was first released although I did not put a lot of hours into it. Maybe I should have kept my frustration to myself..But people when they get frustrated usually strike out at what is frustrating them."

I purchased the game..Full release price Oct 2014..That does not mean I have played it since then. I did not like it very much when it was released. Probably played it 30 hours the entire month. Infact i have a boxed copy of the game with install disks.

I'M willing to bet he's right about you guys not having done any of these newbie boss fight in a long time. He could be right about them having changed since any of you have done them. And all you guys can do is rag on him. Player base seems to be getting more pathetic as the game gets more popular.

Thanks Catagere. I am not trying to troll or anything. I very much like the game and most of my threads up to this point have reflected that. I am just very frustrated with this battle and would like to get past it so I can proceed to the next area. I am new to the game although I did play it for a month when it was first released although I did not put a lot of hours into it. Maybe I should have kept my frustration to myself..But people when they get frustrated usually strike out at what is frustrating them.

Fyi OP i think the reason youre getting so much criticism is because of how you presented the topic. If you were to say:"Hey guys new player here and I cannot seem to get passed Angof in Glenumbra. Seems like Ive tried everything. Did any of you find difficulty in taking him down and if not, what is the method you would recommend using. Thanks in advance for any advice"

I guarantee if you put that, no one would call you bad. But instead you claim that the content is too hard and impossible, when clearly its not.

This from the guy who claims he killed the boss with 1 single hit with pickup equipment and a brand new character. There was nothing wrong with my initital post . I never said the fight was impossible. I described in exactly as I experienced it. Just more exaggeration on your part to make me look the bad guy and lessen everyone elses replies to me..of course. Everyone rags on me for being frustrated with a boss battle. But i am the bad guy.

This attitude is not going to help you.

Don't care what you think of my initial frustration with this boss battle. Obvioulsy you didn't read any of the comments I was referring to. I have since beaten the boss . SO further comments are not necessary.

I read everything, you were proven to be wrong but you don't want to admit it. You said the boss is too hard, then you dared people to fight the boss with low level toons, then when someone defeated the boss with a naked lvl 12 character (without any gear) in 20 seconds, you tried your best to avoid the point, changed the subject to something like "why 47 seconds not 6 seconds", despite the fact that 1) the person who uploaded the video didn't say anything about 6 seconds, 2) his character was naked 3) the fight was about 20 seconds, not 47 seconds 4) if someone finally defeats the boss in 6 seconds and uploads a video as proof, i am certain that you will avoid it and change the subject to something completely unrelated like "why do you use magicka not stamina", there's just no point arguing with you.

Either you are close-minded, or you are just thick.

When exactly did I say that would you like to point out where I dared people to fight the boss with low level toons. Good luck with that. Read the thread again..You don't even know what the debate was about . It was about defeating the boss in 6 seconds with any toon. Your just trying to find something to validate your comments. Well making stuff up doesn't work...Sorry. Anway the boss is beaten and your not going to beat it in 6 seconds. So your just rehashing. Its time for this thread to die...

Starter weapon? I see you're preemptively moving the goalposts... again.

I see nothing about a starter weapon here.

No that was the original claim. I said that a few times.I did not just say that for the first time just now. He said a pickup weapon. So I suppose that means and unmodified weapon of your level from the environment. . Not a starter weapon I guess. Whatever was said in the original claim. Refer back to it. Thats the challenge. 2nd page..2nd post..
