The quest boss fights in this game are a piece of cake. Either you're new or you're spamming light bow attacks, hoping it will be enough.

This is me killing Angof about 15 minutes ago, naked on a level 12 character, with nothing but my sword, shield, food buff, and 200-something CP. I only needed to do like 5-6 quests to get there, not "at least 30-40", and as others have said, this boss is incredibly easy. Wearing any other gear at all and I would've been able to kill him quickly enough to bypass the mechanics altogether. As you should also be able to see in the video, you can get off far more than 1 attack in 6 seconds. In fact, not including DOT ticks, I got off 8 attacks in the first 6 seconds of the fight (medium attack, burning embers, choking talons, flame lash, flame lash, light attack, flame lash, flame lash, to be exact).
If you need help, ask for help and I'm sure others will be able to help you. But if you're going to come to the forums complaining about what is literally the easiest content in the game, and then try to argue about mechanics with people who are much more experienced than you (continually trying to argue that you can only get off 1-2 skills in 6 seconds, for instance), don't expect to get any sympathy.
That being said, if you'd like to post your build (gear and skills) I'd be more than happy to give you tips that'll not only help you get through this boss, but also help you become a better player in general. I'll even craft you some free gear if you need it.

The player in the video was essentially nakid. Just a weapon.
Learning the mechanics of the game goes a long way and being new it would seem impossible to killl anything as easy as he did in the video.
To put things into perspective about learning mechanics, end game players at max CP, some can do more than 40k dps unbuffed by other players and not getting fancy while others are challenged to do a mere 10k dps.
It is all about learning the game and how far you want to push that and yourself. Regardless, in a few months you will find that same quest boss much easier.1 -

There is nothing left to debate. You can't kill him in 6 seconds with a new character and pickup equipment that was the only debate. I killed him already. It takes a minute or so if you can survive. I never said it was a long battle. I said it was hectic chaos that was frustrating me.0 -

I did it with a brand new character and next to no equipment. Sure, I have some CP, but even just wearing random dropped gear can more than make up for that. 2. That was not your only comment. You claimed that you can only land a 1-3 hits in 6 seconds, which my video unequivocally disproved.
3. The video is 47 seconds. The fight is more like 20.
4. You never asked me for any videos. I made that video to demonstrate how easy the boss is.

hedna said he killed him in 6 seconds. I got your post confused with his claims. Its not happening Hedna. And I already beat him so it does not matter anymore. It probably took me about a minute. I would like to sign up and watch you as you attempt to scale the other Everests of Tamriel such as Angof the mighty of Glenumbra. What wicked wonders will await you in the wild? What insurmountable obstacles will detain you on your conquest against Molag Bal. The world of Tamriel if filled with hardships and glory to be had, but once conquered the real test of might awaits you in the normal dungeons. ✭Almost every MMO has special tactics needed to defeat a "boss", only hack and slash style games just add hp to it.
I never realized Angorf had a special mechanic, and I've killed him many times on multiple chars.
If you actually listen to what your npc companions are saying, 90% of the time it'll make the encounter rather lame instead of difficult.
The fight against Molag Bal is underwhelming with how easy it is, a generic overland boss is now harder.2 -

The quest boss fights in this game are a piece of cake. Either you're new or you're spamming light bow attacks, hoping it will be enough.
Try the battle now. Since the boss requires going completelly through the Glenumbra quest line . Probably at least 30-40 quests . You probably have not even fought this battle in several years. Certainly not since 1T was released. When was the last time you fought Angof or have you ever fought him.

This is me killing Angof about 15 minutes ago, naked on a level 12 character, with nothing but my sword, shield, food buff, and 200-something CP. I only needed to do like 5-6 quests to get there, not "at least 30-40", and as others have said, this boss is incredibly easy. Wearing any other gear at all and I would've been able to kill him quickly enough to bypass the mechanics altogether. As you should also be able to see in the video, you can get off far more than 1 attack in 6 seconds. In fact, not including DOT ticks, I got off 8 attacks in the first 6 seconds of the fight (medium attack, burning embers, choking talons, flame lash, flame lash, light attack, flame lash, flame lash, to be exact).
If you need help, ask for help and I'm sure others will be able to help you. But if you're going to come to the forums complaining about what is literally the easiest content in the game, and then try to argue about mechanics with people who are much more experienced than you (continually trying to argue that you can only get off 1-2 skills in 6 seconds, for instance), don't expect to get any sympathy.
That being said, if you'd like to post your build (gear and skills) I'd be more than happy to give you tips that'll not only help you get through this boss, but also help you become a better player in general. I'll even craft you some free gear if you need it.

There is nothing left to debate. You can't kill him in 6 seconds with a new character and pickup equipment that was the only debate. I killed him already. It takes a minute or so if you can survive. I never said it was a long battle. I said it was hectic chaos that was frustrating me.

They engaged @7sec and killed @29sec. That's 22 sec. If they hadn't stopped attacking to stand in the light, he would've died faster. Also if they actually were wearing gear the dps would've been a lot higher. But, I think the person who posted did it to prove how pathetic Angorf is.4 -

All the bosses you fight during the main questline are waaaay too easy IMO.
Even the Daedric prince of domination himself, beat him first try like many others did.
I always felt like they could use a buff, to make them more like Iceheart in the Wrothgar questline. He is the only challenging quest boss I thought in the game, and I have fought all of them.2 -

you are in for a hell ride, if you think this was a hectic chaos, all you had to do is move into the circle and back again to kill boss after, thats one mechanic
you going to face a lot harder bosses, once that said.
There are ways to make boss fights easier, I took a while to learn that its possible to block cast4 -

You realize someone is simply going to go make a new character and do this now. I imagine that most of the people in this thread don't have an open character slot to do so.
Certainly it is true that this game is horrific at explaining mechanics to new players. Luckily, there's these forums. Not all of us use them as their personal place to spam posts for attention-seeking and general working out of psychological issues. In between all the rubbish we glean information and many are quite happy to share everything we've learned as not everyone is crazy enough to memorize all this crap.

Yes, it is the same. Flame Lash at level 1 is the same as Flame Lash at level 16. And nobody even said they killed him on a level 1 character. I don't even think you can have a level 1 character since you come out of the tutorial at level 3. Just because somebody said "new" character doesn't mean they literally made a new character and then went directly to fight Angof without gaining any more levels. Generally speaking, most people considered a "new" character to be any low level character they just recently made. I'd consider my level 12, or your level 16 to be new characters.
And yes, even if somebody did get to Angof at level 3 (although you'd probably end up at level 4 or 5 due to the prerequisite quests), they could kill him in 6 seconds.
I'm not sure why you are so fixated on this minor detail anyways. This thread was about how insanely difficult the boss fight is, and now all you care about is whether somebody can kill him in 6 seconds on a new character?Edited by ColoursYouHave on February 18, 2017 11:16PM8 -

I am not saying you in particular. I am inviting all comers. I will apoligize profuselly on my hands and knees and kiss that persons toes ( over the internet). . Because I think that is impossible. You will have to beat him before even his first spell cast to do that. I would be just run in there hit him several times and he goes down. And if you time from the start of the fight . I don't even think you can get to him in less than 3-4 seconds.0 -

I did it with a brand new character and next to no equipment. Sure, I have some CP, but even just wearing random dropped gear can more than make up for that. 1. I never said I killed him in 6 seconds. Although I definitely could've had I not taken my gear off.
2. That was not your only comment. You claimed that you can only land a 1-3 hits in 6 seconds, which my video unequivocally disproved.
3. The video is 47 seconds. The fight is more like 20.
4. You never asked me for any videos. I made that video to demonstrate how easy the boss is.
If you're not a troll, OP (which based on the fact that you are claiming people, yourself included, said things they never said, I'm convinced you are), you really need to work on your reading comprehension skills.
hedna said he killed him in 6 seconds. I got your post confused with his claims. Its not happening Hedna. And I already beat him so it does not matter anymore. It probably took me about a minute. The problem was surviving that long. Your not following the thread very well if you did not know what I was referring to.

@hedna123b14_ESO was wearing gear, drop gear, but still not naked like the character in the video so the fight might have gone faster from that. Additionally, depending on class and weapon chosen, some do better earlier on that others.
Regardless of their DPS, survival is paramount. Even when in a group with a healer the dps have primary responsability for their survival, moving to avoid damage, blocking about to get hit by something and shielding when necessary. Basically, being aware of what is going around you at all times.
That will carry you much farther that top dps. People notice the guy who keeps dying. Sometimes they notice the guy who rarely dies because dead dps is kinda low. Get that survival down then you can worry about if you can kill something in 6 seconds.
