Homesteads: Houses need to be character specific unlocks in collections.

I bough s house which was furnished, i thought that since i take the items from "collection" of furniture items, that they are always on some furniture iventory..

I begin to put everything away so i can rearrange stuff and place them as i wish..

Oops, inventory full, what the.. Yes they go to invetory, should have figured this out i guess..

I thought i do the quest to get that small room so i can store stuff there.. Oops no, seems like all houses are owned by ME, not by my characters >.<

I dont need a house in Tamriel, my character needs it :pensive:
Anyways, i wish i could opt out from shared houses so each character can collect their own house(s). and i think that an furniture inventory is inevitably needed with increasing number of furniture that players will learn to do and crown store will introduce.

So many aspects of this housing thing seems to be left in half way finished or just not thought well enough to the end :(

So, houses should be changed as follows.

They should be in the collections like they are now but they are not available to any character until you go to collections, and unlock a house you bought to be a house of that character you are currently playing.
This would allow multiple characters having the same house, but with complete different decorations, furniture and all the other stuff.

Every cjharacter can unlock all the houses ypou allready bought, but you can have them all decorated in styles that fit the character.

Primary residence would work as it works now. You can have that as "Common" house if you want to show your personal trophies instead of characters.

Well, account wide in itself is not the thing.. The houses could be "stored" on my collection when i buy them so i dont need to buy again, but id like each individual character to get his or her complete own house or set of houses.

The thing is, my characters own the houses inside the game, not me.. So if one poor adventurer cant get anything else than small room on some inn, that one could get it as own house while the other character, perphaps could have different house completely..

Then again my DB character could like a safehouse styled room in some inn, while the traveling merchant type character would just like a cozy home away from home...

The one Nord i have, could build the Autumns gate as a cozy homesteads with gardens and all, while the other who is reachman, would use and build it as a ritual site in the yard and study books inside, perphaps have some cage with prisoner to interrogate.

For me, it is not accptable that if one character furnishes a home, the other character is completely locked out making that home look more like his or her house.

Whats so odd in that i want each character to own their own house? At times even the exact same house but differently furnished and decorated for each character.

That should be the default way to go, im not against having all the houses i buy on the collections so that i dont have to buy them again, but i want to "Open" them separately for each character and each character have a separate purpose for certain house.

I am used to LOTRO housing, where you need to pay upkeep/rent for your house, it feels completely natural thatthere and there each character has to buy his or her own house, nothing odd in that either.

It could easily be done, every house you buy is in the collectionn. When ever you create a new character, you just go to collections and "Unlock" a house you want for that character. That way, many characters can use the same house for example, but have them decorated in different way.

i don't understand why you would want the same house decorated differently for different characters. I would hate to have one house that I have to furnish multiple times, character by character - what a chore.

Can I suggest that you simply purchase enough homes so that you then allocate a house to each of your characters and have them decorate it in their style. That way, when you take one of your other characters to another ones home, it would feel like you are 'visiting' a long lost relative or something.

I do agree with the inventory issue - once again we have been given new items that can clog up our inventory but no compensating increase in free inventory slots.

^ This. I'm a character-based player, and this is exactly what I do.

See, the way I figure it, my characters know one another. They would have to, to share a bank, right? All of mine are basically all part of the same adventuring company. And what that means is that, discounting quests, they all live in the same world. And if they all live in the same world, it doesn't make sense for them to have separate versions of the same house. Instead, they each have their own small-to-medium house that they decorate to their tastes, and they can visit one another's houses if they want or need anything.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

i'm really confused. LOTRO also has account wide housing so not sure what you mean there. and i may not be understanding but you can get different houses to use for each toon. Just don't take the other toons to the other toons house maybe? you can also get a free apt for each alliance if you have a toon in each alliance. then store stuff in them

    Yup.
I have one house each for my three "main" characters so far, and I likely will eventually buy more for all my alts. Each one to decorate in that alts style... not like the small homes aren't cheap enough for that plan, right?

Worse I don't see how it will help at all either, houses has limiting storage space, an bank alt has more, you can even use the alt to redecorate, with character bound housing that would not work.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
