Why can't we dye our weapons!?

Hey guys, been playing TESO for quite a while now and I was just thinking, why the hell can't we dye our weapons!? Wouldn't it be cool to customize the look of our swords, staffs, axes etc? I think it's time we were given the ability to do so

catalyst10e✭✭✭✭I think the original thought process, was that you could visibly see a stronger/upgraded version of a weapon at a glance based on color and detail. So seeing someone with blood red swords, you knew they used the best materials to make them and therefore are stronger. This was also why they didnt want to change Bound armor, they wanted other players to be able to see you were using the skill. But since we've gotten so so so many other cosmetic changes, like costume dyeing, hair/face accessories, and skills have been altered so that we can see how awesome our characters look, there's no excuse for not having the ability to dye weapons. We can Dye shields! why cant we dye weapons?"Why settle for just stabbing your foes when you can roast them alive in a gout of arcane fire?"

Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.5 -

✭We've asked a thousand times, I'm fairly convinced they're working on it. Slowly, as I think Gina(don't kill me for misquoting) pointed out a couple months ago, it'll be slower than shield dyes because of the sheer number of weapons per motif they have to map for dyesIf you quote someone, and intend for them to see what you have said, be sure to Mention them with @[insert name].1 -

I thought it was because some were afraid there would be bright pink broadswords everywhere and others didn't care if there would be pink broadswords everywhere?and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."0 -

@Mcl How often do you see people in-game with neon green/yellow/pink armor? The times you see it may just stand out in memory because almost no one does If you quote someone, and intend for them to see what you have said, be sure to Mention them with @[insert name].1 -
