Master Writ rewards? Just vouchers?

I haven't completed any master writs yet but do they just reward you with writ vouchers or that and something else?

At max level it is something like 600 gold. In woodworking, clothing and blacksmithing there is also a good chance of getting a gold temper, a repair kit and you will usually get one or two bits of gear with the intricate or ornate traits and some trait gems. Occasionally you get a survey which sends you somewhere there are loads of mats.

In the enchanting writ you get empty soul gems and some mats, and in provisioning writs you get mats and recipes. They all also give 20k inspiration (crafting experience), which is completely useless.

aren't there different levels of writs? I have not researched much onto this but I thought people were saying you can get different amount of vouchers for different levels of writs. You have to be max crafter to get the top level I think, but even then I thought there were different grade of items you can make. Aren't there gold items you have to hand in for some of them?
How many vouchers do you get for a top tier writ? Sorry, that is a lot of questions. Any answers would be helpful

I could be wrong, but I think the only difference in terms of the reward is the number of writ vouchers. I think the amount of gold and XP is the same (but again, I could be wrong).

Most of the master writs I've received have been for 2-6 writ vouchers, but one of my guildies got one yesterday worth 263 writ vouchers (for a legendary nirnhoned sword in the malacath style and the oblivion's foe set).

Provisioner writ, 8 purple drink - 2 vouchers.
Enchanter, epic glyph - 2 vouchers, gold glyph is 5 (7?) vouchers.
Alcemy, 20 tri effect poision - 2 vouchers, 20 tri effect potion - 5 vouchers.
Clothing, woodworking, and blacksmith, range from epic set piece with non-basic motif and non-nirn trait for 6 vouchers to Gold hard to reach set piece in rare motif and nirn for 300+.

Based on the listing for Aetherial dust, which can be bought for 50 vouchers now, the gold per voucher price should be a little over 1,000 on NA PC. But you'll see master writs currently selling for 5 times that on the traders.

It is a confusing system, and I think a lot of us are still trying to work it out fully.

There are different levels of daily crafting writs, linked to the number of skill points you have spent in each skill. You can do crafting writs at any level, but if you have maxed out a craft (can make the highest level gear) then doing a standard daily writ has a chance to give you a master writ. Master writs are found in the rewards box you get for completing a max level daily writ. A master writ asks you to make a specific piece of gear, in a specific style, with a specific trait, from a specific gear set, either at purple or gold quality. Therefore all writs are the same level, but the rewards depend on the gear you craft.

Completing a master writ rewards writ vouchers (a kind of currency to buy certain goods), and the number rewarded varies massively. On reddit I saw a post trying to work out the underlying logic, and their theory is that the number of traits needed to craft the set (e.g. twice-born star requires 9 traits), the quality (purple/gold) and if the required trait is nirn all work multiplicatively. They predicted that the most rewarding writ would be worth approx 300 writ vouchers. In practice it is more common to get master writs worth just 6 writ vouchers, and most valuable one I have is worth 118 and it requires a legendary nirn item.

Alchemy and enchanting writs typically provide just 2-4 writs each. I have yet to see a provisioning master writ despite doing well over 50 top level provisioning writs.

boy, you aren't kidding. That is kind of confusing! Lol Well, I still have week for you pros to figure things out before I jump into it, so Good Luck! I am really only interested in it for the DPS dummy..... and maybe the Ebon Motif later on. I hope I do not have to use too many tempers to get what I need for the Dummy. I may just end up buying it from Crown Store if it threatens my stockpile too much.
    Thanks!

Never understood that part. By definition, your character is already level 50 in that craft, so why even bother with crafting XP?

Master writs (most) simply are not rewarding as they only grant you 2-6 vouchers on average (if you can get a master writ). If someone has only one crafter or is new to the game and crafting it could easily take a year before they get that practice dummy or Ebony motif they want. Master writs (IMO) should grant no less than 20 vouchers.

That's kind of an iffy thing to base a conversion on, considering that the dusts you buy for vouchers aren't the same as the dusts that you get from drops. The dropped dusts and ciphers make mythic aetherial ambrosia (+150% exp), while the ones for vouchers are just regular aetherial ambrosia (+100% exp). Of course the public at large might not realize that, but I suspect that the currently accepted per-voucher price wasn't really scientifically determined to begin with.

Or be guaranteed to get at least one or more per day on a master crafter that gives 10 vouchers in combo per day.

I've gotten 2 on the last 4 days for a total of 7 vouchers. For a week of doing them, I have 26 vouchers. Been doing writs every day. Sometimes on 1 to 3 characters besides my max master crafter who have max crafting in wood, metal and cloth, but no research. That is painfully low considering the number of mats I've used.

It's because there are certain people in zone chat campaigning to maintain a 5k gold per voucher standard without really having a basis for it.

But then you see master crafters basically telling those people to go *** themselves, and I have to stop everything I'm doing to go make me some popcorn...

Once again, I'm pretty sure this is because Max-level Provisioning Writs have been bugged since One Tamriel release. Pretty sure the odds of getting a Master Writ from a tier VI writ are minimal.

I have actually gotten one provisioning master writ. My breakdown so far on my sole master crafter is 1 prov, 1 blacksmith, 1 woodwork, 1 enchanting, 1 clothing, 1 alchemy. Wow, just realized that's one of each since the update. Hmm.
