Black Cat Pricing - Thank You!

As I've been critical lately of some of ZOS' business decisions when it comes to Crown Store pricing, Crown Crates, ESO+, etc. it's only fair to give praise when it's due.
Given how long sought after the Black Cat has been by some people, and the fact that it's a 'Heart's Day' limited time offer, I was fully expecting it to be sold for over a thousand crowns. So to see it priced at 700g was a real surprise. As a result, instead of having a grumbling gamer on your hands reluctantly buying "an overpriced reskin" for my gf because "It's Valentine's Day and she's worth it", you now have a happy customer who not only bought one for his gf, but bought one for himself too.
So thank you.

✭✭✭✭✭I was expecting 1000 like the previous limited pets like the wolf and the bear cubs. Which, honestly, I do not think would be fair because the cat models in this game are a tad outdated and not as well-made as the aforementioned wolf and bear cubs (model update please?). But since it was a very desired pet, I thought the problems with the model wouldn't matter and it would be priced at 1000 Crows anyway.
I'm surprised and very happy. Out of curiosity, the default name is Mimi. I named mine Oliver, after my real life black cat.Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.2 -

Last year there was a Valentines Day special sale too, and we didn't get a sale on Crown prices until later in March, so I wouldn't say it is indicative of anything yet. 1 -

It's funny how people's tastes are so different. The pretty red collar is the only reason I was really interested in it...lol. Thought it made the weird elongated cat model in this game less weird-looking.->--Willow--<-4 -

✭✭✭✭✭I was expecting 800 crowns. Was pleasantly surprised.
So now I have my first cat. I love seeing him follow me around. However, I do NOT like him in my house. The ESO cats are so alien-looking that he looks a little creepy standing there. So many of the animals in the game are absolutely gorgeous and blow me away with how awesome they are ... but not the cats.
I really, really wish they would do a complete over-haul of their cat model and do a completely new, more realistic mesh and animations. They need to hire whoever made the lynx to do the cat over-haul. The lynx is perfect. ... His animations are natural, and he's gorgeous and realistic-looking.

Cheetac19✭✭✭Yes! Thank you ZOS! I was soooooo surprised and relieved on the kittens price! A very good price for a limited, simple pet. Definitely a breath of fresh air compared to recent pricings. I've been waiting for this kitty for a while, and I absolutely love him! I just gotta think of a name.
Hopefully we get a solid white one someday. I'd love one in memory of my kitty, Marshmallow

✭✭✭✭✭TBH I think this is how most sales should go, more towards the "here is a nice thing, it's a good price go get and have fun" than the "show you have a big wallet with this expensive bling pet!".

A picture of a white cat was datamined, so it should be coming up sometime this year. It's not known whether it will be a store item or if it will be an exclusive for Crown Crates.Hopefully we get a solid white one someday. I'd love one in memory of my kitty, Marshmallow
I had a white cat when I was younger. She was white with brown eyes, and her name was Peppermint.

It was originally for the Japanese collector's edition. In Japan they're considered good luck!

Plus I wouldn't pay more than 500 crowns for a pet, but that's just me... ...and I have 8 other pets (free/reward) from crown crates/dungeon/imperial edition lol.0

I disagree about their weight. I think they look like a short-haired cat that does a lot of exercise should look. My black cat is skinny too, but he runs around all day with my dog and eats only cat food, never any unhealthy "treats". My other cat is fluffier and a little pudgy, though, despite eating the same cat food; she is just lazy and doesn't exercise nearly as much as my black cat, and since I live in Rio I suppose she also avoids running around much because it is always too hot around here. Both my cats (and my dog) are very healthy.
Now, for their body language...I agree that it looks weird. I wish ZOS would remake older animal models.
