Opened ticket for change account name, denied, why ?

I opened a ticket (161206-003242) for asking to change my account name, and it's refused because support said they can't do this ? I'd like to understand why there is this new change ? It was possible before, why it's not possible anymore ?
Someone from zos can explain me the reason ? @ZOS_GinaBruno please need help ?

I've asked to change my user id because some players bother me and send me hatemails when I play. I just want to play in peace and enjoy this game without being annoyed (especially in pvp).

If you are having difficulties with players who are sending you mail, please use the Ignore feature. This will not cover zone discussions or shouts, but will cover mail.

Probably not. They were doing it for a while but people were just changing it for "cosmetic" purposes, bogging down support, I'd imagine. They actually CAN, as in, they have the capability to do so, but unless you can demonstrate a valid reason, like, personally identifiying information is in it, they won't change it.

In your case, I believe changing your @ name won't help you because, if you are in any leaderboard, someone can figure out your @ name by hovering over it. Heck, if they see you in game they can see your @ name. Most likely, it won't do you any good so the ignore feature is your best bet.

This is not normal, we should be able to change it. Being focused and insulted by some players is really annoying. And ingore wont change anything. Change character name (what I did) don't help neither, because my user id is still the same.

Did anyone get a solution for this? I refuse to play with my UserID being a jumble of letters and numbers but the access code won't work, support have helped me as much as they can... anyone else having this issue?

To change your UserID just log in at https://account.elderecrollsonline.com and go to "Edit Account Info".
To change your forum username, post in this thread: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/109013/how-do-i-change-username-on-forums

Thanks Guys! Support managed to change it over however I'm still showing as letters on the forum?

But anyways all resolved and I'm ready to play! Thanks again :0)

@CDMPD34KRNW95L43PNMY Your forum name is separate from your in-game name. Just post in this thread to get your forum name changed.
