My life is so carefree that the future of this game is my main worry

Some people spend $5 a day on coffee, soda, or bottled water.
I spend $1 a day on entertainment.
Those aren't investments, those are expenses.
Debit Cards have made buying things online so easy, Steam remembers your payment info so you can spend hundreds after just three or so clicks.

I don't see time spent playing a game or watching a movie or reading a book as an "investment" either.
While it's true that you aren't going to make any money back from the game, you are saying that you don't invest time to make the game more fun? You just run around aimlessly never leveling up or getting new items you want?
That, of course, is complete nonsense. People who like the game are exactly the ones taking up residence on the forums posting about the game. Who else would do it? I agree with Bulb. As soon as I hit level 50 I joined the forums. Makes me feel a part of something

The only time I'm in the forums is during the day (like right now) while I have some breathing room at work. If I were home, I wouldn't be in the forums. I'd be playing the game.
Also, you'd be a fool to think every single person in these forums loves ESO. You assume there is no benefit to their being here if they didn't love ESO. You would be very wrong.
So yeah. In several ways, both of you are correct and incorrect at the same time.
A game isn't an investment. I don't see any of the money I've put into the game as an investment. It's money for entertainment, and it's kept me entertained since the January 2014 beta so far.
It's also not an investment because one day the servers will close and everything will just go away.

i agree. except i do see it a little as an investment. but like anything enjoyable is. i don't see it as any different than going out or going to a concert or any hobby. it all costs a lot and it all doesn't really do anything "practical". i'm a little less casual in that i get upset if something in the game that i put time and money into disappears though (like a toon) but life itself is an investment that ends so....

You went deep at the end there bruh...waaaay deep.
It's an MMORPG.
Most MMORPG's dont update graphics, so when the next gen, ESO will be obsolete.
Technology is rapidly advancing.
Is ESO 3D?
Is ESO VR?
Is ESO linked to social media?
When everyone is playing MMORPG such and such...
You too will follow and switch.

Looks to me like he's trying to place lorebooks on a bookshelf.

My investment does not worry me one bit. Since I have already got my moneys' worth out of TESO plus some. I'm good. To bad the rough time after launch was so unforgiven by critics. Oh well. They can go play something boring while I have fun here.
